This is such a beautifully crafted tutorial. Piano is probably my third instrument after guitar and bass and quite often I am fairly reluctant to pick it up again. However this tutorial makes me want to get back to it. My goodness isn’t this song incredible. Who would’ve thought that this band in 2006 would create songs like this that use major 7ths and diminished chords 👌🏼 incredible. You are most definitely subscribed 👏👍👌🏼🙏🏽

Complementing this, on Jools you can see exactly what chords Alex is playing during the stabs, and it's Ab C Eb G on the left hand and an octave D on the right hand

You got an incredible ear! I was trying to get the piano on my own and I got really close, but you got all the details of the inversions on chords and everything. Amazing! Thanks Dont you think its a really interesting harmony? Would love to see an analysis of the song by you
@3minuteswithMarc

Thanks a lot!! Yeah I agree, I think those chord sequences are quite unusual and there's a lot of depth in it. I was thinking of doing an analysis but I might wait for the album first!

I'm not trying to learn this song (I'm super new to piano), but damn that cartoony piano with the highlighted keys is way better for songs like this. Also Alex Turner's vocal notes have some pretty abnormal timing. I've been singing this in the car all week, but I still can't pinpoint exactly when to start or end some parts.
@3minuteswithMarc
Жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot, I assume you mean the cartoony piano is better than synthesia tutorials? Regarding the vocals, Alex indeed plays around with the timing a lot, I'd say a good way is to break it down by verses/lines, and once you nail one down, go to the next

Man LOVE YOUR VERSIONS BECAUSE DOES NOT TRY TO IMITATE THE VOICE I FCKN HATE THAT! IS THERE AN SPECIFIC NAME FOR THIS KIND OF CHORDS IN PIANO?? WITH OUT THE VOICE??
@3minuteswithMarc
Жыл бұрын
Thank you, yes that's the idea of my tutorials, piano track only! I'd say the name would be "without voice arrangement" or "piano track only", but those terms usually aren't present in the vid titles...
