Using wet and dry surfaces, we use our range of watercolours with each other, from pan colours to markers and watercolour sticks, to show the variety of marks that can be achieved. A dry surface with a marker leaves a bold line but using the marker on wet paper makes for a more subtle mark. The same is true to varying degrees for all of the watercolours, a wet surface always creates a softer mark. Another technique is to dip the marker or watercolour stick in water and apply that to a dry surface for a bold, strong effect. Using all of these different techniques together can lead to some surprisingly interesting results.
