brilliant! now I actually know what it is! I have asked tv technicians what it is, none could tell me, thank you. not that I can do this myself. but at least if i call someone out they can now see what the problem is. I have 2 tv's with this on, and never knew what caused it! thank you.

I just did this today on a 55 inch tv. A lot of sweaty moments later, but damn. This actually worked, and was the problem in my tv since 2 years after I got it. So happy right now, seems like a new one!

Thats great, isn't it risky to open the TV at home can the panel break? TV technicians asking for a huge amount to correct this.

Very good,and that with baby wipes with aloe vera,i replaced my led strips in my tv and i saw the same black stains on the side on the last layer before you get to the led strips, i did not clean it because i thought that i only needed to replace the strips,now i know i have to clean it ,so thank you for this video,greetings from Amsterdam.....

I watched this yesterday because my samsung 32" tv had dark patches at the top. I literally copied everything from the vid this evening (except for the suction handles cos normal people don't have those hanging about) and it worked perfectly - my TV is like new! Thanks a lot for showing this, it helped me save money not havig to buy a new one and I learnt about TVs. Note - I made sure the capacitors were discharged before starting.

@@theattorney6072 There are little devices you can buy that use any voltage in a cap by lighting a light in a circuit when connected to the cap. These should be used very carefully as danger of electric shock exists.

@@theattorney6072 I'm not en expert or electrician, I'm just a normal person. The capactors can have electricity in them if the item has been used recently. If you touched them they would give you an electric shock. The voltage does discharge over time after power off, though I don't know the specifics of this and how long it takes. Perhaps there are some vids on this?

@@ChicaLocaGB Hah I replaced some LED strips in one of my TVs a couple of years ago. I touched a bare metal part on one. Let's just say I couldn't feel the end of one of my fingers for a few days.

Thanks for teaching! My ipad pro 12.9 inch has black spots and water spots too. I believe its the same concept, would be great to learn repair of such devices from you. Or replair of laptop lcds

Cleaning your tv from inside is the most important thing I wanna do to keep it running for years than wasting tons of money for a new one, I bet this guy is a true technician 👨🔧 😎 💪🏼

Be careful during cleaning your house. Dust will fly in there or sometimes dusts settled around the screen and when a slight wind movement disturbed or fans or blow air, dust will go onto the screen which you have to take the screen apart to clean it.

For those of you contemplating replacing blown SMD LED's I can say that replacement like for like in terms of size,power and very accurate alignment of top lens is essential to avoid bright spots showing through. Best to replace all the the strips with new ones.

Did you do it in the end? I have a Samsung AU7100 65" and it's just outside its 1 year warranty, and these dark smudges/clouds have appeared all over it, just like the TV in this video.

Thanks for teaching, great job. So i followed all instructions and replaced bad LED's. Once i turned it on all lights ligted up and then TV went to stand by again, checked LED went bad again. Changed 2-nd time and same LED's went bad again.( Insignia TV). Can you tell me what went wrong and how to test it? Thanks.

@@Ronaldopopkings I think I will be able to do it since I was able to fix my Nintendo switch. The dock makes the plastic on the back of the system brittle and break off. I also replaced the joysticks in the controllers.

Is it justified to clean it when we find such dark spots? Someone suggested me that we should change the LED as it will soon get dark again until and unless we are not changing the LED. Simply leaning tge reflector and all will not do

I lifted a new Qled tv, but afraid i putted some downward pressure on the sides from the screen with my hands and on the center also. Can Qled tvs handle some slight pressure or will the LCD be damaged easily?

Amazing job. My 12 year old 70 inch Vizio still has an amazing picture but i have some black spots that is driving me crazy. I just think this is too much work for a tv my size and weight. Might be time to get that Lg cx 😎

I’m in a similar situation. I love my TV (TCL 55") but the dark spots are starting to drive me crazy. I don’t want to open it up myself and if I can’t get someone to do it for a reasonable fee then I’m just going to buy a new one.

@@straingoods2090 I found a 55" Hisense Roku TV for a decent price at Costco and bought it. It's surprisingly great. The TCL is in the garage waiting for me to get a repair quote. I stuck with Roku because that's what the family is already familiar with. Walmart and Amazon have some killer deals on a Hisense 58 and a FireTV 55 right now so I may change it up.

Omg,I have a Samsung 7000 crystal 4kuhd TV and these black marks appeared and kinda suck. Looks easy but to open up the TV looks tricky. Don't know if I can do correctly, bet it's pricey to have someone else do it. I'll give it a go I think.

Nice done´! I have a tv samsung from afriend to clean, it has a kind of mist when looking at pictures, special on left and right, and not in the middle. I did see there is a protection sheet on front, glass or something. When I look from above down to the screen I see clear letters from the lcd but blurred on that glass, looks like there is also some space on it, kind of reflection on the glass of the lcd letters and blurred there, I do not now if that protection glass what is quite strong can be removed and cleaned. Do you now? I have a samsung myself but there is when put vinger on I see the lcd liquid moving, the other with burred letters does not so there is a plate present before the lcd who possible can be removed and cleaned. thanks.

It’s from the lights, it’s like when you hold a flame to a piece of glass, although it won’t catch fire, soot will appear.

@@paddycampbell576 yes, but it usually takes a few years to build up. I’m not sure why but I’ve noticed it’s more common on cheaper LED TVs that do not have local dimming. The whole point of local dimming is to dim down certain areas of the panel according to whats on the the screen ... where as no local dimming means the lights are burning the same luminance constant every day.

I did the same to a TV Samsung it improved a lot the black spots but unfortunately, some black spots were done by burn ins from the led strip, it didn't remove 100% but it improved a lot.

What to do if a quarter of the screen developed a yellowish tint? There are several visibly yellow blobs (not vivid yellow, just white and gray colours become much warmer). It's a Q7F from 2017

Will this fix DSE on a new panel straight out of box or is that something different. And if so why would a TV manufacturer quality control pass the panel as good if it had dse when all they have to do is clean it after testing?

I am also asking the same... I have 75x90j and 2 dse spots in the middle which i noticed straight away since i put legs on and powered it. With my previous bad xp with Samsung that actually accepted dse for return/exchange i am not sure Sony will. I should have returned it right away but i was affraid i would be getting something worse or break panel when putting it back to the box so i kept it...and i am one of these super sensitive dse ocd guys. Now as i choose to live with it ( wifes fault) after 4 months i wonder if it can/ should be fixed...if only this guy is closer to me (Croatia )i would pay anything rather then watch this shi...y thing on my brand new tv. Wish ia had balls to send it back right away. Anyway, wouldnt this cleaning would woid warranty?

@@GF_design23 I returned 3 panels for dse before I kept my 4th and sure enough after 6 months I had 2 spots develop on my Sammy 75qn90 so in the end the panel lottery didn't really matter. I'd pay someone to take it apart and clean it but having a hard time finding someone on the west coast.

This not black spots. Its dust... Spots are show in picture Screen with black dots. Not display doted area. But in this video dark show display in picture as dust..by the way Gentle and master mechanism...Good over all.
