solved. My main jet was too small. I'm at sea level with 128 main jet. Went to 132, runs perfectly.

Landon Hillyard that’s great news , I replaced the ignition coil and it fired right up everything was fine and today the bike dies when slowing down I have to have the choke up because it just does if I don’t have it on. So I may buy a new choke and main jet possibly

I’m having same issue when my bike slows down, it want to die. But in neutral idles somewhat okay. Still want to die eventually. I cleaned carb. No change. What do you think?

Your fuel air screw will probably be between 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 turns out. Check the factory specs and start from there. It’s not the cdi

The CDI is on the side of the bike you were trying to put pressure on the charging rectifier .

So your air screw should be two to two and a half turns out. Not closed, and not wide open. The 132 main jet will cost you in MPG, but all that extra gas will make the engine run cooler. Probably get lots more popping on decel as well. I run a 130 in mine. Next observation, your throttle response seems a bit slow, and your bike is as dirty as mine, which could mean you need a new air filter or at least clean the one you have. I don’t do it nearly as often as I should. It’ll help throttle response, especially with a 132 jet dumping so much gas in it. You need all the air you can get. Lastly, your petcock is on reserve. Not a big deal unless you forgot to switch it back after gassing back up. With the petcock on reserve, when you run out, you’re walking. Hey, it’s it’s running, and you can ride it, then it is all fine tuning from here out. Ride safe!

Your carb is dirty or has varnish from bad fuel. Soak it in Yamaha carb cleaner then blow out all the little air passages with a compressor. Use an inline fuel filter. Ultrasonic machines are for cleaning jewelry not carbs.

Ha ha no I actually didnt. Still does the same thing. I have just dealt with it. I need to put the carb into an ultrasonic cleaner.

Landon Hillyard Ah alright. When you use the Ultrasonic cleaner on the carb let me know if it helped at all. Because at this point I may sell the bike for parts.

@@Alienwarfare25 so that makes it pretty easy. When you pull the choke it dumps more fuel into the engine. That means the main jet is not supplying enough fuel under normal conditions. That means 1 you main jet is too small or 2 you main jet is clogged.
