I think lyrically it has a lot more content than Shy Away - he’s basically saying he was born this nervous person and there’s nothing he can do about it and nobody is going to help him, he has to do it on his own; then towards the end of the song he starts to realize he needs to do this on his own - then at the end in the rap he basically talks about how he has the ability to fix his issues more than others and he’s going to continue to grow to get through this (kind of similar to Shy Away - it’s almost like this song is what happens when you Shy Away and how you beat it) - I think we can expect a lot of this type of meaning and sound for the album The first thing that stood out to me in the video is how much more of a role Josh has in this video - he's typically just in the background on the drums while Tyler interacts with the camera Josh is obviously who is shrinking everything into the case (that's Josh's real dog btw) Trash (the dragon) has already been shrank when the video starts - Does this mean Josh has control of Trash? Does Tyler know this and so he is trying to free Trash? I think once we get a really good understanding of Trash it will help a lot on both videos - it does seem like there is some symbolism similar to Levitate/Jumpsuit where Tyler is being dragged back into Dema after trying to escape - the weird thing is what is Josh - is Josh under the control of Dema? Also at the end of "Shy Away" there is that bright blue light when everything comes crumbling down - similar to what we see when Josh is shrinking everything here

All the details in the music video scream Dema. I love the vocal harmonies in the song. Josh is the bishop or possessed by one. Remember the Levitate video where Tyler was pulled back to Dema? Check out Tyler's latest interviews, he talks about the dragon too.

There's no way it's connected to Dema. His mug didn't say dema on it or anything

@@AnonyMous-gs2gw I think it is. And the coffee mug on the counter, left from Tyler, it clearly has the text Dema on it. But you can think what you like.

Hey Charlie! Always great to see a TOP reaction from you. You are always on point. I was pleased when you spotted Jim (that's Josh's dog IRL, Clikkies all know Jim) because I knew you would catch on. I laughed so hard on first seeing this video - in a good, happy way. You did well to stay focused. Great wrap-up on the song.

Hi Charlie. Yeah we fans have not found out yet the storyline to this new album. So lyric/video interpretation right now is just guessing. All we know is it's a continuation of trench album story (about city of Dema). TOP drop bits and clues so we're trying to figure it out and there are many theories. So all i can say is visit past TOP comments that explain trench album story, and then currently you'll be at the same place as us ((not knowing what the pooop is going on!🙂)). Okay, love your reactions.....

Been waiting for your reaction to the song, thanks! I like how different it sounds to Shy Away, loved that one but this song seems a bit more like it's targetted at their core fans, sounds similar to their early releases and heaps of easter eggs in the music video

In my opinion Trench is a masterpiece. I love it. The songs are so good, and the production is top notch. But, so far I'm loving the new songs too, for different reasons than Trench. They are very different, so I'm happy to add them to the mix. Did you get a to a ticket livestream? US$20 /23 with fees. When registering you select country. - looks like it is available in every single country. I can't wait for the livestream. There no way it could have the energy of a live concert, but I still want to be a part of it. Now if only they could get audio of all of us screaming in our homes during the performance!

As for the meaning of the song, I think it's about overcoming adversity, and recognizing that even through painful moments in of life, you have to take control, and you have the power to push harder than you may think. And don't look back, keep looking forward. Meaning of the video? Tyler has told us that Trash the dragon is related to unleashing his imagination. Here's a quote on Scaled and Icy and Trash the dragon: "This record is more colorful than other records, literally more colorful, but sonically as well. That colorist supposedly represent the unleashing of an imagination. I have this theory, that even if you are confined to one small room, if you were to focus on one singular detail of that room, that detail can then come to life. Actually I have this little dragon, like totem figurine that I have been staring at. My theory is that if I can get to a place where I'm looking at him and I'm creating something and all of a sudden he can grow and then actually fly around the room, and then where I am, I'm transported to a completely different place. It really is the power of creativity, the power of imagination, and ultimately the power of music." - Tyler Joseph So back to meaning. I think Trash (imagination) is very valuable, to both Tyler and Josh. It is kept behind glass. And when Josh takes it out of the showcase, Tyler grabs it runs away with it. What I don't get is Josh stoping him. Usually Josh is part of the inspiration and pushes Tyler on, now he is throwing a net on him and stopping him. Or maybe because Tyler can go too far. But in the end Josh puts Tyler in his collection of pressious items, along side Trash and Jim.

I think the video/ the album represent Dema propaganda. Tyler has lyrics about breathing fire or smoke in several songs (the dragon = lyrics, creativity) and he has used a dog to symbolize Blurryface in the past. So he is in the display case , under control with his creativity/music and his fear/insecurities. Unless the dog is to symbolize Josh's version of Blurryface, Spooky Jim. I'm not sure.
