cheers mick i’ve never used a spirt stove as it takes too long to boil water and on moors in winter is a pain but the wood stoves i like as on moors the only wood is gorse bushes unless you go to the woods so i’ve got the crusader base which i’ve just gone back to because i can use wood and the fire dragon and unlike the bcb stove dont set grass on fire on leave too much sign so not using bcb anymore just the crusader and jet boil sorry for a long comment love your explaining it so well 👌👌

👍👍👍 .. nice comparisons with good advice thrown in as well. Yes, those Cat Food Cans come in handy for all sorts of things. I use them as Wind Screens and Supports for home-grown Folding Pot Stand Stands and little Alcohol Burners. 'Snuffing' .. a wet cotton face cloth works well .. as well as cooling off the burner to allow for handling / refilling / etc .. and for standard 'kitchen stuff'. 'Sensitive' Surfaces .. I have a Stainless Steel Bushbox LF Folding Wood Stove and an IKEA Hobo Wood Stove. On suspect surfaces, I put the Bushbox into one of my Rectangular Mess Tins and keep the bottom topped up with water to just below the 'burn'. The IKEA (with added legs) .. a 'Tatonka' 18cm SS Bowl does the necessary (the GSI Bowl too .. similar to the Tatonka). Works like a charm 😊. My wood store is on my 3rd floor flat balcony. I harvest in my adjacent forest and then leave to dry on the balcony. Gets warm out there during sunny days due to the glass roof and frontage. Yesterday afternoon, the balcony temp was 45°C .. outside temp 33°C. Washing on a folding frame dries chop-chop 😊. Thanks for sharing .. take care ..

Is the small box stove the same one you used in the good and bad spirit stove video. Same metal. Did you buy it from Amazon or some where cheaper? Thanks
