I believe this is the first TWiN I have listened to. I was so intrigued by Vivianne Morrison’s conversation of ADHD and Bi Polar that impacts her. I think we all know of someone with ADHD and/or BiPolar. The more we discuss this from a personal perspective, the more we normalize the conversation and gain a better understanding.Well done.

Vivianne, I loved hearing your sono remark on vision. I also appreciate you talking about your bipolar. We all have someone in our family with bipolar or depression or Autism. Listening to this podcast helps us understand the brain.

Great podcast! I don't understand much of what was discussed but I'm looking forward to hearing more. I'm sure that, as I experienced with TWiV, the more I listen the more I'll understand.

ADHD is a topic I seem to always gravitate to. When I first learned how adhd had nothing to do with a deficit of attention or hyperactivity I practically fell into a wormhole learning and trying to find every possible thing I could to be as educated on the subject as I could. That lead me to a lot of pseudo science which I couldn't just accept and in my search of real science found twiv and now I'm here. i don't know why i felt the need to write all that only to say It's amazing how far education and understanding can change someones life for the better. Could be the working memory deficits caused by my inability to hold more than one thought in mind while simultaneously thinking about everything all at once. Anyway love the whole Twix universe and I appreciate all the helpful learnin. Have you ever considered having a guest who doesn't have any formal education. They can be there to ask the questions normal people would. It could benefit with science communication by finding out what the average person is confused about.

Dr. R - it would really be appreciated if you could include the guests' names and areas of expertise in the description so we have a better sense of where their perspectives are coming from in these discussions. I know you are very busy so hoping you now have an assistant that can help with including that type of info in the microbe tv videos. Thanks!

@@gferraro8353 I did but there is nothing about the background of the participants so I still have no idea where their perspectives come from.

No , actually there is no information about the hosts or guests available on this show (except for Dr Racianello). I ran into this same problem after disagreement with a recent episode. It can cause actual problems, which should be easily corrected (at least in part).

I volunteer for any CTE research. I am not the typical subject being a female . Several high impact head injuries beginning at age 5 ( hit by a car traveling at 55mph) and serious car accidents at 14 (rollover) and 16 (head on crash) as well as incidents following those that seemed like seizures and involved LOC due to fall and hitting my head. Please contact me if I could be of any help. The older I get, the more sx I have. Please find a way to help people with this horrible, seemingly undiagnosable death sentence. 🙏

Im astonished.. if the troupe here represent the basis for serious research, then they should be dismissed, if they cannot consider environmental factors being significant in the development of neurodegenisis. To quickly discount the presence of heavy metals, let alone also the invisible pollutants in our world today, such as estrogens etc.. but we are in a vastly different world now than even five years ago.. where the pollution from electromagnetic sources, wifi, metering, alarms, telecommunications, EVs.. serious pollution and noise that is by its fundamental nature, is an interferrance on brain functioning .. and for this to NOT be considered in any fundamental way affecting the human brain, is degenerate research if at all. The environment of the study of course also affects the outcomes, and no doubt these studies are conducted in EM field polluted environements, and whereas the brain, stem, spinal cord, and heart, are also an electrically sensitive organs, as are metals. Regardless how much melatonin etc you have or dont have, if you are in an electrically polluted environment, as we are increasingly and rapidly so, the body will suffer. at any age. You obviously understand the context of what I am implying, as your caption page photo is a brain in an electrical field !.

I don't think the hosts quickly discounted heavy metals or other environmental factors as being unimportant to brain pathology. One of the hosts specifically said (at 28:20): "there's a lot of environmental factors that, I think, contribute to brain damage." Regarding the proposed hypothesis that aluminum or copper cause Alzheimer's Disease, they said that studies have found no connection. That isn't disregarding those hypotheses or not giving them consideration. It is an expert in the field who has read the relevant literature telling us what he knows.
