show isn't just about the murder. only the lynch episodes are about the murder. lynch episodes are like the movie kzitem.info/news/bejne/qm9732V8ioh6gm0 if you watch lynch stuff they are dark and violent. violence, sex, drugs back in the day the show had a 10pm watershed which was new for a show, but that was because of the lynch episodes. normally in the 80s shows weren't allowed to be this dark.

I believe these are the greatest opening credits of all time for many reasons, but I think the main reason is because of its glorious simplicity. It's just a bird looking up, a shot of a mill smoke stack, a sawblade, a waterfall, and then a river, and that's all, but you set it to Angelo Badalamenti's absolutely stunning music and you create something that is, to me, almost a religious experience when you watch it. When I watch the series, even when I watch like ten episodes in a row, I never skip the opening credits; to me, that would be a crime, and no matter how many times I see them, I feel something deep inside me that moves me in a way I can't explain.

+Andy Smith No, it was a true statement. It was a great show that occurred during a time of great change. As the Internet and being in constant contact was beginning, innocence and personal contact was disappearing. Plus as a Seattle resident we went from a pretty quiet area to what it is now. After this show came our music scene and then Microsoft. It truly was better times at the time this show came out. To me if they bring the show back it couldn't possibly have the same feel. It was a product of that time.

Jimmy McNulty In retrospect, I don't stand by this initial statement. Twin Peaks will always be a classic series, but the mid portion of Season 2 was downright awful. (The finale was indescribable, though.) My list is.. 1. Deadwood 2. The Wire 3. The Sopranos 4. Breaking Bad 5. The Shield 6. Mad Men 1 through 3 could be moved around in virtually any order.

Great list and true about S2 of Twin Peaks. Its the 2nd season that has viewers recognize that the series was never able to achieve the novel like storytelling of the shows you mentioned. Here's how my list would go: 1. The Sopranos 2. The Wire 3. Deadwood 4. Mad Men 5. Breaking Bad 6. The Leftovers 7. The Americans 8. The Shield Deadwood personally is my favorite series of all time and for the longest time I put it at No. 1. I would put Twin Peaks on my top 15 or 20.

It was filmed on film, not tape, so there is plenty of resolution available if they wanted to make a blu ray version. Check out the blurays of 60s Bond films or Blade Runner to see just how astonishingly good and detailed old film can look when rescanned. In fact, Twin Peaks was one of the first tv shows to use film instead of tape and was a huge influence and factor on the shift in the 90s from cheapo production values and videotape to a more cinematic look for television shows.
