As a fellow storm chaser I'm very excited for this. Been looking forward to it. I had to step away also like you did & settle down because I got so excited over it & the nostalgia from 27 years ago just slammed into me. I have kept that original VHS behind glass. Those tornadoes look so unbelievably real it's not even funny. If those weren't on screen CGI I definitely would have believed it to be real footage it's that good. Wish Bill Paxton was here to see it! Rest in peace Bill Paxton & Philip Seymour Hoffman "Dusty."

I noticed that Dorothy V in this movie, the sensors have aluminum parachutes on them. Makes me wonder, if they're using the technology, but for a different purpose?

Hi Tyler I'm a graduated filmmaker and screenwriter from Milan , Italy. I discovered your channel thanks to this video reaction. Twisters Is my most anticipated movie of this year and there's a lot to talk about because It looks stunning and intriguing ! Seriously seeing you crying after the trailer was emotional , can't wait to see your breakdown of the trailer and in the future other breakdowns / reactions and the review this Summer💪😉. Despite It's marketed as a stand alone sequel there's a lot of easter eggs that easily connects this movie with the original , I hope to see a cameo of Jo (Helen Hunt) and other members of her old team. I think many viewed this trailer like the Independence Day Resurgence experience , I liked a lot that sequel despite Its flaws (also ID4 Is one of my favorite movies of all time) but for this case Is different..in a very good way ; Lee Isaac Chung, the director , Is an Academy Award winner for his previous movie "Minari" and Mark L.Smith , the screenwriter, wrote The Revenant..also Spielberg Is coming back. I'm working on a disaster short film called "Earthquake" ("Terremoto" in Italian with Eng Subs when It will come out) and Twisters encouraged me to do this short film 😉. See you soon , greetings from Italy 👋😁.

The last tornado scene was a bit Into the Storm-esque but I do think this production is going to do it better! It feels like Twister to me, which is why I got so emotional. 🤣

The FIRST thing I noticed in this trailer, was "professional" storm chasers, possibly some meteorologists running to an overpass. Which is one of the most overused, wrong tropes in tornado/storm movies. It's literally more dangerous to do that due to pressure differentials and winds etc. so since this movie worked with a famous storm chaser I can only imagine the "studio" just wanted a cool scene near an overpass. Sigh. I studied meteorology in college in the early 90s, and wanted to be a Hurricane Hunter, until I found out you had to be in the military to be able to fly on those planes to do research etc. Then I wanted to be a storm chaser, but by that point in my studies, I got into the weeds with some of the math involved in the field and I just couldn't do it. Which sucked.

Math is what got me too. 😣 Which was horrible because I wanted to do tornado research. But research is all math. 😅

@@TornadoTyler5 Yeah, I just couldn't do it. And I was decent enough at math until I got into advanced calculus and some of the even more advanced stuff. Computers were starting to be used, so maybe if I went to college a few years later I might have been able to hang in there to finish my degree. But alas, I was born to early :P

My thought on the overpass scene... We all know that taking cover in an overpass is one of the worst things anyone can do when a tornado is present. However, I'm guessing that in this scene, the overpass was the only scenario for the chasers that they had to potentially survive. Looking around, I don't see any ditches or low-lying areas for them to take cover. And realistically, anyone in that scenario likely would take shelter under the overpass. A slim chance is better than none. Kate obviously survives haha.

I don’t know if I heard it right but Glen Powell asks Daisy”You thought you could destroy a tornado?.”. So it seems like from mapping out the internal structure in the 1st movie, they’re bow trying to stop twisters in their tracks with Dorothy’s help?

Great reaction vid! We are storm chasers too and are stoked about this movie coming out the summer after we got our best intercept paralleling an EF4. Twister was a big inspiration for me when it came out when I was 11 and my first chase was at 12 years old on a bicycle with a block of wood with a kid's science kit weather station nailed to it. We agree the tornadoes look amazing and we are curious about the context of them running to an overpass.
