They didn't see any of the above ground interactions. Realistically the best the ticket inspectors can do is request ALL parties to show they have paid their ride fare at the gate. If they have, then as ticket inspectors they have no further authority. Potentially they could assess the situation and request the police attend with urgency to investigate all 3 people but that's it. You're looking at this situation with 20-20 vision, or perfect hindsight. All this ticket inspectors will have known at the time is 3 guys having an argument.

This guy is Bulgarian. There is something distinct that he said that gave him up. Just before he entered the subway station. I really cannot translate it on KZitem, because it is extremely explicit and involves mothers and sexual activity. I can also tell you he is from the eastern parts of Bulgaria, because of the very specific dialect that he swore in. This is at 4:47, he later repeats it, but he is whispering it. I can not exactly pinpoint where he is from just based on that, because anyone from Varna, through Burgas, through Plovdiv and Sliven uses this specific variation of cursing in the same manner. If I had to bet, I would say he is somewhere from the south-eastern part of Bulgaria. I hope this helps in some way. If I have more information I can probably dig him up online, but you already have enough experience finding them yourselves, so hopefully the hint that he is definitely Bulgarian and what part of Bulgaria he comes from, could help you. I'm sick of Bulgarian pickpockets, pimps, and scammers around Europe. I bet at some point he was active in Barcelona, because when I lived there, most street hustlers were either Bulgarian or Romanian, but Mossos slowly, but surely mostly flushed them out of the city, that is why they seem to move to countries that are not part of the EU zone.

I was in Prague last winter. Leaving Prague thinking "wow we didn't get scammed here". A "train conductor" comes to us on the platform to tell us which platform to go to to go to our destination. He even tells us which changes to take because there were interruptions. When our trains arrives, he grabs our bags for us into our cubicle. Carries 5 of our bags into the overhead compartment and demands for 10EUR for each bag. Then we knew he was a scammer. Moral of the story: Verify verify verify in out and open public establishments. This guy wasnt as bad as the guy in the video but still pretty bad. My mum didn't know what to do and gave him the money like the lady in the clip because she was caught off guard. These scammers know tourist state of mind. Stay sharp

Hey there! I respect your actions. Here in the U.S. every police department has a program called, Auxiliary Police and those individuals who successfully graduate the academy, have legally the right to carry handcuffs, as well as arresting criminals in action! (I've done it quite a few times). As far as I know, many countries have the same program. Therefore, if you are able to engage with your local police department, you will have the right to arrest those kinds of criminals on the spot!!!

Let me just say: at 4:16 when he says "igen magyar vagyok" (which means "yes, I'm hungarian" -in hungarian) anybody who actually speak hungarian will tell you that he isn't hungarian and was saying it with a bad accent that is 100% not from Hungary. He is probably a romanian or some slavic or something. (Disclaimer: I haven't watched it all the way through. Stopped here to say this)

You guys definitely qualify as present day superheros. 2:00 they were both fiddling with their open purses (big no no in any busy city street) and the daughter started stepping away leaving her mom "exposed". if her purse wasn't open the daughter could have stood between scammer and mom to protect her. bottom line - the daughter did not take control of the situation she already was suspicious of.

As a Hungarian, I feel the need to set the record straight: that guy was NOT Hungarian, he just kept repeating the same "Magyar vagyok" sentence with a terrible accent. I guess he thought that he'll have better chances of getting away if he pretends to be a tourist. Thank you for your persistence btw, nice job!

No way my one daughter would be that passive. She’d get in that guy’s face and tell him to get the hell out of there while yelling at me! Trust me, I always listen to her as she’s quite formidable. She even frightens my stepbrother who whispered once to me that he was “scared of seed oil” after my daughter told him in no uncertain terms how bad it is for you. This woman’s daughter should have been a lot more for forceful with her mother…who cares if her mother thought she knew better. Her “I may be old but I still have a brain” pride almost became her downfall.

Thanks for cleaning up Prague, it's such a lovely place to have negative memories from visits there. regarding ticket inspectors - they just help with the subway scam. that's when you're a dumb tourist like me, walk past the ticket booth (which is unmarked and seems like not meant to be found), then once you pass it, a ticket inspector will come to you and ask for the ticket you don't have, this is before boarding the train, and will tell you to pay a 150 euro fine from you which is payable in cash, to him. if you don't pay 2 cops come and enforce his scam. that's after we went a day before to the currency exchange office which you already covered in your previous video.keep up the good work.

I'm hungarian, the guy had about 16 euros worth of forint (I saw around 6.000 HUF in his hands) his "hungarian" had a very heavy accent when he said "Magyar vagyok" (= I'm hungarian), so no, he was definitely not hungarian.

In the late 80's I was in Prague. It was late evening on a cold autumn night. We were crossing Charles Bridge. The bridge was having some repairs done and I decided I'd have a couple of the little cobbles as a souvenir. I was immediately confronted by two police and carted off to a police station. The entire incident lasted about an hour without a word of English. During the entire incident, they continued to speak to me in Czech even though it was clear I didn't have a clue what they were saying. Eventually, they took my souvenirs and let me go. I went back to the bridge a couple of days later and purchased 4 cobblestones from a very confused worker. I've been to the Czech Republic 100's of times since and that's the only time I've seen the police do anything. Saying that, it's generally a very safe place and the crime you're likely to encounter is usually some sort of minor money scam.

I just wanted to say what I witnessed today. I was in Prague sitting in a cafe eating a trdelnik, when suddenly a guy came in and started trying to sell the employees fake designer perfumes. They did not want to buy it but he would not leave until they bought it. He kept lowering the price, and then he got physical. I was just wondering if you could make a video about this.
