Best parts in this stream were when charborg kept sneaking up on criken and acting like the mimic, bummer they're not in this cut.

Yeah it works better as something like an SCP adaptation. Although I do like the idea of there being 'rules' you have to follow like curfew or silence, the punishment shouldn't be a scary killer person/thing.

the 1st is reasonable though, it was in Kane's video and he had the giant in the his recent backrooms video. It just has to be used right, its fine here imo since its meant for coop.

Most people don't get liminal horror. For a video game in particular you need to spice things up a little. Otherwise the players will get bored. That is the problem with introducing liminal horror to a wider audience. To most people the concept on its own is just fucking boring. They need something tangible to be afraid off.
@helioline1532

@@noahbarnhartandit2365exactly my thinking. Everyone gets the idea of a monster, a tangible threat, even if it's something as bizarre as, idk, hyperviolent paranormal paperclips - but when it's the very environment you're in that's your biggest threat (like a neverending dissociative approximation of modern human design, sourced straight from memories that never existed), that's a truly oppressive and disturbing situation to be in. Although, I think the only reason this game is popular is *because* of how the presence of these horror gamey monsters partially defuse the tension (and mystique, imo) of their environments. This much jank, lack of polish and narminess coupled with decent netcode and proximity chat is absolutely hilarious to behold

its always so weird seeing backrooms stuff with the smiling toothy face in darkness because the exact art that was originally taken from (or what it's based on now) is art done by a furry(?) artist from like half a decade prior to anything about the backrooms for their dragon character

The weird black corner thing is the games optimisation not working properly. It should be loading those parts of the level sooner, before you're able to see them. Before you look around that corner, the visuals aren't rendered, to save processing power.
