As a former Whataburger employee, I recommend next time you get the same Honey Butter Chicken biscuit but with bacon added. It gives that salty and sweet combination if that is something you want to try. It was one of my favorite things at Whataburger to get. Also, for the Honey Barbeque Chicken Sandwich try it with the Jalapeno Ranch next time for some heat and a lot of good flavor. You can also change the bread on any of the sandwiches from what they normally are so you could get a regular burger on toast like the patty melt or whatever other sandwich you like. I'm glad you guys tried Whataburger though its a must have if you visit Texas.

Stooooooop it! Bacon?! How come I never thought of that! I love you… 🥹 I just had whataburger two days ago 😭 What other combos do you recommend? If I get the whataburger or mushroom burger, i always change to texas toast… to the whataburger I add cheese, bacon, and light grilled onions, light raw onions and Mayo.. sometimes jalapeños.. @@nahor88 Definitely correct in the Tex-Mex, so apologies to any native Mexicans! I love our Tex-Mex 😋 And spot on with the wait times at Whataburger looool. I’ve spent way too long in those lines at 3AM. I completely know I’m committing to a sit down restaurant dinner time when driving up, but it’s always worth it in the end. Also, shout out to Whataburger for their 24/7/365 service, because my parents always went on a long vacation without me (when I was in college/couldn’t take off work) during Thanksgiving, so my Thanksgiving meal was thanks to them keeping it open. Probably should have just learned to cook, but who has the time for that 😂

I worked at Whataburger in the late 80s. as a hungry 16 year old. Dream job. A constant double cheeseburger, and fries, shakes. It was so much fun, and I learned so many business skills. I can't speak for them now, but they were really strict on freshness of all the ingredients. If a bun was a day until expiration, it was thrown out. The meat was never frozen, which is mind-blowing to me. The tomatoes had to be singly hand-inspected as they were delivered. It took 30 minutes to go through a box of tomatoes. All of the lettuce had to be immediately hand-washed on delivery, and inspected by the receiving employee, then two managers. It was a focused company. I'm still in touch with my co-workers, they all moved up in their lives, I don't regret a day of it.
