I read the comments; "why didn't you this and why didn't you that?" "It wasn't that bad... all you did was buy furniture?" I completely disagree. This transformation isn't just about replacing furniture. It's a warm and inviting design that flows effortlessly. I think sometimes us couch designers forget that you didn't go out and seek this project. You were invited and personally I think this 2-day transformation is amazingly beautiful. I love, love, LOVE everything about the design. I love the new leather chairs, the L-shape couch, the pillows, coffee table... I love how you pulled it all together with colors and textures and art... My favorite are the woven chairs with the black accent weave on the backs. Got to have 'em for my home! I think I have watched this video 10 times or more and each time I see something new, something new, something unexpected and always something beautiful. Awesome design, Studio McGee!! I see you went to Superman's home planet for that sectional, gotta get that Krypton! I love comfort! I want to sit on that sectional and definitely those chairs. Just watching her sink into that leather chair made me happy. I want to check those out! The 4 pictures on the wall were the right size, but seemed too bland for me. I suggest a blue sky with fluffy clouds over water in 3 tall panel art pieces. I really liked the off-center cabinet that's almost floor to ceiling, and then the lit pictures to the side of it. I agree with your opinion on the pictures, but I disagree on the chairs! They have a very unusual slant and no head rest, so if you are over 5 feet tall you neck is going to be hurting in less than 10 minutes! Not questioning your decision just want to know so that as I'm redecorating in my house, I can make better choices on what works and what doesn't. @@ruthgoddard6539 excellent Construction and materials that will last a long time are worth paying Craftsman a decent wage to produce this caliber of furniture. The material will wear out before the sofa will and they can just get it reupholstered. America is an expensive place to live. Craftsman and manufacturers of Fine Furniture get paid more than the type of furniture you buy in a cheaper store. You get what you pay for. But, I certainly do understand what do you mean. 45 years ago my in-laws bought an L-shaped Ranch on a half acre of property for $30,000. Today it's worth quarter of a million. Pretty sick.

I have two gorgeous paintings by anna razumovskaya that just do not match a beach decor! But I am moving to a beach town and want to incorporate some coastal or beachy decor! Should I put the two Anna paintings side by side in say, the dining room, and nothing else, and then do my beach/coastal decor thing away from that room? The space is only 700 SF so not much choices! Living and dining are pretty much within each other's view. Or should I put the Anna paintings in the living room wall facing the front door and then not decorate walls with any beach decor and just do say, pillows and sculptures?

Why are people so phobic of colour? Get creative! I once gutted a kitchen to create a country kitchen using burnt orange paint on some walls and incredible dark green grey black swirly granite countertops with a black sink. Natural gum tree hardwood floor. Result - great and vibrant! Use colour. In my most recent bedroom I used Endless Dusk (medium grey) with white trim and wallpaper on a wall with slightly raised sparkly dandelion pattern and a shiny silver bedspread. Result - sophisticated and restful.
