thanks for posting. but it is wrong to classify as "Russian Gypsy" music! This song has an author: Ivan Vassiliev is the composer and Apollon Grigoriev -text! Outstanding Romani musician of XIX century, the conductor of the famous Romani choir, singer, guitarist and composer. Born: near 1810's Died: near 1870's Apollon Aleksandrovich Grigoryev[1] (Russian: Аполло́н Алекса́ндрович Григо́рьев; IPA: [ɐpɐˈlon ɐlʲɪˈksandrəvʲɪtɕ ɡrʲɪˈɡorʲjɪf] ( listen)); (20 July 1822 - 7 October 1864) was a Russian poet, literary and theatrical critic, translator, memoirist and author of popular songs and novels. The style is what called" Old Russian Romance".

First , Russian poet Appolon Grigoriev wrote a poem called "Цыганская венгерка" or "Gypsy Hungariana" and asked his friend Ivan Vasiliev, who happen(ed) to be a director of Gypsy chorus and dance ensemble to compose music for his song."

Feel free to contact me anytime. I live in Arizona, USA. I’m not very well traveled except for Canada and Mexico but I would like to hear about Romania and your way of life . I am not a gypsy by birth but a gypsy in my heart. I like gypsy music and their free spirits. Even though I work very hard to make ends meet, I am a quiet dreamer and roaming like a gypsy in the field.

+Robin KIM , I guess you have watched "Gipsy are found near Heaven", old Russian movie with great music. If not, I guess you have it here, in you tube. All the best!

+Robin KIM Yes Robin, you have spoken my mind ! I love all Nomadic people and their life style. Although I am not a Gypsy but I just feel like a free spirited person. In my country (Saudi Arabia) there is a small minority of people called the Bedouins who live life similar to that of the Gypsies, even though many of them now live in modern houses in Saudi Arabian cities, there are still some of them who live their authentic lifestyle which I find fascinating, secretly I wish I was them.
