The Photics.TV hydroponics experiment was not forgotten. It just took longer than expected. That's probably because my lettuce needed more space! At least, that's the conclusion I reached after growing lettuce with the kratky method.
The small mason jar wasn't good enough for a big head of lettuce. But after switching to bigger containers, and using more nutrients, the results were better - and tasty! 😋
While I'm still trying to perfect this growing method, it was fun growing lettuce throughout the winter. Although, I didn't really do much. It was mostly waiting.
The AeroGarden was a bit more maintenance, but I think this experiment changes the way I'd use the AeroGarden in the future. I thought it would be a simple matter of counting the number of tomatoes, but the results were a bit more nuanced than that!
I learned a lot. I'm not sure if this means a career change, but wow I enjoyed this experiment.
