Check out my super useful tips to make tuning your shamisen a breeze!
The most common obstacles are slipping pegs and misjudging how far you have to turn the itomaki to adjust the pitch!
Follow my shami life hacks to improve your tuning game!
I highly recommend to practice tuning by ear, because I know YOU CAN DO IT - trust your ears and keep practicing. For Niagari tuning, the thick string and the middle string will sound like the beginning of "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star", whereas the middle string and the thin string sound like the iconic smash hit "Amazing Grace" - I know you can hear it :)
Whatever you do, have fun, enjoy the progress and the process and keep practicing! I'm here to support you and cheer on you, wohooo!!
Say Hello in the comments below and tell me how you're doing :)
And forgive the weird cuts in this video - this footage was intended to be an explanation for a private student, but I ended up wanting to practice my editing skills, and here we are! :D
