Congrats!! I was heavily considering a S700 but I couldn't justify the price/ leap of faith to find out if my products would be successful or not. Opted for an early 2000's Robodrill that I'm running the hell out of in my garage. If I were to do it again I would definitely go for a 21 tool machine and tsc.

I have a 2019 haas vf4ss with single auger and the chip control is garbage. They have been making the machine for like 25 years with the same bad chip control. Even the multi-augers and the belt type conveyor sucks from what I have heard, but you'll pay massively more money to get it. If I had one of these I would want a belt conveyor in the back so I didn't have to shovel the chips out of the pit. Looks great.

Man that's a bummer to hear but good info. Honestly cleaning the chips takes about two minutes and so nice to be able to keep the machine running while we do.

I guess it heavily depends on the options you want to add, but I would expect it to be in the $100K neighbourhood.

Read the brother manual. 200-230 in the MEP world means it runs on 240. Just the same as how you'll see small motors listed at 110 volt. They are not 110 volt motors - that's the voltage they will still give their entire rated power output. It's extremely likely that your machine is rated 200-230 because it will run slightly under volted on 208 and slightly under volted 240.

Hey, originally we were going to get the new 1000 machine, but shipping kept getting delayed. That had everything, dual contact spindle, tsc etc. We just had to get going and I basically got the 700 stock with the manual pulse generator. Nothing special but still love it

Thanks for the video. You have pretty nice shop. I would put that compressor farther from the CNC, to reduce vibration. Also I don't saw that you have the air dryer. I have 2019 VF2-SS in my garage, running on 200 amps service. Powering through Phase Perfect PT-030 (30 HP) I can't run anything in the house when that things working at max speeds, since with 5 HP air compressor and air dryer, I barely have any power for anything else. Had the issues with incoming voltage (average 247 Volts) and mills transformer hummed, had to install Delta to Delta 3 phase 250-240 V, 45 KVA transformer, which lower it by 10 volts to get it right in the middle of the haas multi-tap transformer range (236 Volts). Now machine transformer is quiet and if there's a load that separate transformer takes it instead of machine transformer. I don't regret it. Now just saving money to buy property to build the house and the shop.

As a guy who who just retired and had a machining center in a garage, I would build a small room for the compressor, well sound insulated with filtered venting up high. I am not a big fan of solid state phase generators, I used a Roto Phase, and had no problems in 15 years. They recommend a generator with double the rating of the machine, but I didn't do that and had zero issues.

I love the demo videos of this machine, i would really love to own it as my first machine when i start up the shop, but because of my capital, i don't think it's meant to be. How is the rigidity of it compared to haas ? Can you machine stainless steel on it or is it a struggle ?
@bobbyintheshop

I've only done a few cuts on stainless but I'm happy. I think the tool geometry is so good these days that takes some of the concern away, imo
