Malcolm Ramie has what I think is the counterpart to this prototype unit, an external EPROM board owned from Frank Druda, for the Model 100. Malcolm was told the external board was used by Frank to get updates for the OS on the Model 100 during development. The board was shown at VCF-SW 2024, and I dumped the ROMs, though the ones on the PCB are the same as the production OS. Someone might have received earlier ROMs loose from the estate, not sure.

I have several M100s, M102s, and two M200s, and I love watching your videos. I'll be recapping a couple of them and replacing the memory battery. I've never recapped before, so I'm a little nervous about doing it; I just have to man up and do it. Watching you over the years gives me a bit more confidence in doing so. Thanks!

Defiantly practice on something non-important. When the capacitors leak, they can alter the chemistry of the solder and create an oxide layer on the surface. The oxide has a much higher melting temp, if you get it hot enough to melt you will lift the pad.

Oh and make sure to clean up the board the best you can. You can remove the soldier with a pump and/or copper wick (flat weave). Just be gentle to not damage the board or traces.
