Most of the employees of the Gramophone in Europe were American. However, some of Berliners relatives were there to set up the manufacturing. So I can gather one was by Gaisberg and one was by Sanders or whomever was privy to make the discs. The material to make them was send to them from the Duranoid Company of Newark NJ. Two great finds there. Two different materials and perhaps pressings in two different locations? These were tent pressings. 4 presses were in a tent...were any moved? Was there other materials tried? Was there a late shipment from Duranoid which would account for the lighter material. Some interesting points and questions these discs reveal. Thanks for posting.

Funny the Americans in London forgot the date format. Must have been very chaotic in the earliest days at 31 Maiden Lane.

do the pickle bumps on berliner records affect the playing or damage them if played or are they fine to play on a modern turntable without damage?!
