Because pugs are also one of the most inbred of all dog breeds - all 10,000-plus of Britain's pugs are descended from just 50 animals

A study conducted by The Royal Veterinary College concluded pugs face dire health risks due to INBREEDING. The consequences of inbreeding for their specific appearance have become detrimental to their overall health. Breeders kill the pups that dont posess desirable traits and many pups live excruciatingly painful lives with many disorders and disease, some hardly can function. To understand the impacts more, the study looked at 4,308 pugs and 21,835 dogs of other breeds in the U.K., comparing their health profiles and odds of developing 40 common disorders The study found that pugs had an increased risk for 23 disorders, including being 54 times more likely to have brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome, 51 times more likely to have narrowed nostrils, 11 times more likely to have skin fold infections. In addition, 17.4% of the pugs were obese, compared to just 6.9% of other dogs. Not many will speak out because its bad for business. Its designed for breeders to charge top dollar for the cutest pug and veterinarians arent going to speak up because they make a killing on pug visits because their health issues. Every pug you buy from a breeder promotes the suffering and death of thousands of pugs

@@carpe_poon5761 absolute dreadful reality ... pug lovers should not be obsessed with their pug (s) being purebred ... again the brutal truth is simply to difficult to face !!!

@@brucewayne3602 Sadly for this breed the majority of pug fanatics think the flat face with folds and all that are cute. They just sit there and feed these things shit food all day and dress them up, thats all they care about. I think theyre nuts. Not all but it seems to be a majority. They will even deny the breathing and health issues, they will deny it to the death. They always respond with 'I had a pug' for this many years and its the happiest best dog in the world. Im like bc youre crazy! You think that pug is healthy bc its cute! But it cant be outside for more than a hour and gasps for air just trying to eat, reverse sneezing and needs a break every 5 min going for a walk. If you wana call that healthy. They're in denial literally. Facts dont matter bc pugs are cute to them and they justify it however they want

@@brucewayne3602 I like the idea of retro breeding but its just not going to happen. Profit prevails over all. And even vets wont speak up about the breeding issues bc unhealthy pugs are a gold mine to them, im sure pugs are their fav patients lol

The same applies to every dog breed, but people only care to talk about it when it comes to pugs. Why? Because the internet makes you think that it's just pugs if you aren't intelligent and informed enough to know the honest truth.

Non maïs ! C'est pour faire rire ces énormités ? Vous voulez les rendre malades! Peu importe...
