Absolutely brilliant! It's really sad that this era has passed. It was a more gentle age where humour didn't consist of taking the pi** out of people and being abusive. I thought I was almost alone in this thinking until I read all the other comments below. Good to know that old-fashioned, clever comedy is still well thought of!

I agree I was born mid 75 so by then Ronnie B and C had being going for four years, as The Two Ronnies and by then had melded more or less into one another. I watched them from 75 till they finished late 1987. They were both wonderful extremely talented actors, unlike Morecambe and wise who were definitely funny man and stooge. Ronnie Barker I believe was unique a true chameleon and had this amazing gift for word play and writing, obviously as Gerald Wiley, couple to that the fact that they both had impeccable timing and fantastic script writers such as David Renwick, Eric Idle, John Cleese, many of the writers were originally the Monty Python mob. add to that the others, too many to mention at one time including the very fast minded Barry Cryer. Ronnie Corbett in my mind was a very talented actor and exceptionally gifted man who had the ability to laugh at himself and put the audience at their ease, I reiterate Ronnie Barker was the Alec Guinness of comedy My favourite sketch of theirs was it came from outer Hendon, exceptionally funny, yet unfortunately close to the end of the sixteen years they had been together. This level of variety will never be seen again or be performed by two such gifted individuals RIP to both.

The Two Ronnies did really clever sketches, that would take anyone else months to think up yet Ronnie Barker had such an ingenious mind it seemed to flow with such fluidity. There is a similar sketch of theirs where Corbett is trying to keep up with Barker during chit-chat in the foyer at a classical music concert. Corbett keeps making a prat of himself, and Barker somehow thinks he (Corbett) knows what he’s talking about, re serious music. The only line I can remember has Barker saying ‘Ha, ha, I must remember that one about Strauss,’ The sketch is actually quite an erudite little musicological exercise. Anyone?
