The First Scraper I ever Drove was a 333F Wabco that a family friend owned in Ayr Queensland Australia in 1995. He was lazer leveling cane paddocks and doing irrigation channels.

Not many scrapers have teeth on the cutting edge ,even elevators. The edge teeth did assist self loading.

There's a trap door in the bottom! And it is indeed possible to overdose on Detroit Diesel sounds.

Only around 1800-2200RPM max for those 12V-71s. The little 53 series would rev higher, around 2500RPM. But for the number of compression strokes and valve openings it's double the number for a four-stroke engine, since these are two-stroke, so take that number and double it, and it sounds like they are doing 3600-4400 RPM.

those things must nearly be unstoppable, self loading, awd, do they float or ride like a cat ? notice only the one has the cage on the rear rad.

No floating gooseneck so I'd say they ride like a wagon. A little give but not enough. Makes for a LONG day nd nobody had to rock you to sleep.

theyre stiff neck but youre sitting between the front wheels not on top of one, ride is good and you never get caught trying to load with the hitch up.
