Wendell - I understand about 2% of what you're talking about, but it's still interesting in terms of my PC hardware adventures. Plus, for purely entertainment value, nothing beats your stuff. You are 'chill' at a time when IMHO some other well-known channels have gotten rather dark in their approach. Keep 'em coming!

Modern MySQL scales to 64 cores really well. Some people are running it on 96 core systems now.

Issue with vSAN would be the difference between OSA and ESA. I think the Kioxia drives are supported in ESA, but they really want the barebones to be ReadyNode. But you can run AF8 profiles with 100Gb, 6 being dual 25Gb. It works for most workloads well.

Also most Ready node setups in AMD are single socket, including even their top tier. So even VMware realized that dual socket, at least in Genoa, wasn't really necessary.
