Excellent tying tutorial. I didn't realize albies would hit flies that size, I always see people throwing smaller bay anchovie like flies or people with spinning out fits using small hoagie epoxies lures.

I use small anchovy flies as well but the majority of albies I’ve caught are in my 3-3.5” surf candies I tie. Look at some of the deadly dicks and hogies some guys throw. They’re almost 4”. I think sometimes it helps stick out form the thousands of micro bait around

i don't know why it wouldn't, it's basically a small baitfish imitation. Most of the flies I tie can be used for all types of fish species by just varying size or color etc.

have you had an issue with tackiness? Ive noticed you're a fan of solarez, Ive been using the Loon and regardless of how long I'm curing it's still tacky. I'm using a pretty high lumen light so I don't think that is the problem

Owen Wagner I’ve had issues with the loon, particular ya bottle yellowing when cured. So I switched a while back to solarez and haven’t had any issues. I think it’s far better when it comes to tackiness. I make sure to cure it not to long and if it’s a big batch of flies a couple mins in open sun light and it’s good to go. Hope this helps

@@lifliesmike definitely answered my question. Tying a big batch of your candies and was kind of annoyed at the tackiness. Just picked up some medium solarez today so we will see how it works! Thanks man
