Hey Davie: Have you ever thought about writing a book? Call it " Davies favorite flies". I for one would like an autographed copy. Have pictures, recipes, and tying instructions for all of your favorites. I know it would be a real hit in the UK and the US, and elsewhere.

Hi Ronald, I have been asked many times to write a book but I have to be honest I'm no writer and you would need to put a lot of time into doing a good job which and spare time I rarely have, but thanks for asking.. All the very best Davie...

Gave this a bash last week Davie but did stop after the first whip finish proved deadly when the sun was dipping down early afternoon was a good addition to my box.

Davie, The Rite Magnum bobbin controls line tension for different types of material and is tapered so that it can be used as a half-hitch tool, while the Marc Petitjean Thread Through bobbin is easy to thread, controls line tension and has a built-in slot that turns it into a dubbing/spinning tool. Finally, the Ekich Ultimate Bobbin controls line tension most especially for rotary tying. I've never used them so I was wondering if you had experience with them or similar products.

Davie, I like the way you use both traditional and new methods and weave them together. How do you feel about the new bobbins that are available? Some have disc drives and are said to be able to regulate thread tension very well. I notice that you mostly use the Tiemco heavy ceramic bobbin.

Hi Davie, First, where do you buy your colored peacock? Second, what kind of scissors is it that you use. It seems to be able to cut really close to the material. Third, what would you use for substitute djungle cock? Great pattern by the way, I am also a big fan of bug bond. Makes our life as tyers much easier. Only negative I can think of is that UV-glue has a tendency to become a bit oily, but I guess that the fish dont care :)

Hi Steven Cackovic, I dye most of my peacock quills rather than using a marker pen but I have done at times when I need a certain colour in a hurry as it does work, light colours show up best as you'll see the natural marking of the quills far better... Merry Christmas and a Happy New year when it comes.... All the very best Davie
