Today, I tied a nymph from the renowned Edy Dona series. This particular pattern, a variant of the Pheasant Tail (PT), is one of Edy's celebrated designs that have helped him secure numerous titles, including World, Italian, and European Champion. Edy Dona is a distinguished fisherman - proud, competitive, and quintessentially Italian - and I hold him in high esteem.
This fly stands out for its unique white dubbing chest. In the fly box, it may initially seem unconventional, but once you fish it, you'll be quickly convinced of its effectiveness. It's a reliable performer that catches fish consistently, no matter where or when.
The SECRET: white rabbit dubbing mixed with white synthetic dubbing ( with green and blue reflexes ). This mix creates an unique contrast in water and it seems super effective for trout.
Materials: ( Guys, I've included a materials list with what I use to make this fly. Of course, you can use what you have available and adapt it to your preferences. I'm sure your results will work perfectly, or even better, on your local rivers!)
