Chill - ders - Nominated for a Grammy this year but lost to Willie Nelson. Came from the same general area of Eastern Ky as Chris Stapleton, Dwight Yokum and many other greats. If you get a chance check out his song Lady May that he wrote about his wife. Other songs? Feathered Indians, Universal Sound, Shake The Frost, or anything with his name on it. There's also a complete show from Red Rocks on here that is worth your time.

Yeah it's kind of a shame with what's happened to country. I have NOTHING against fusion of other genres in country, like I listen to all kinds of music. But if we're going to fit other genres in with country then I really want it to be creative and interesting. Adding pop to country hasn't made it interesting, its felt really bland as of late in my opinion. That's why I'm so excited to hear more stuff like in this video, that's what country is about :)

No problem man, this was a great suggestion. I'll definitely be doing more of his stuff since I loved this one so much. I've heard Strugill Simpson's name thrown around a good bit too so I'll probably do something by him soon. Thanks for sticking around, I really appreciate it!

Bottles and bibles, Banded Clovis, I swear (to God), and off his new album Matthew and Peace of Mind are good ones. I spent about 5 days going down the Tyler hole. Hoping he and Sturgill are still able to play their dates this year, supposed to see them in Nashville in May. Enjoy!

For some back story. Childers is from East Kentucky. Which is a very poor area. Back in the day, it was a bunch of mining towns but now that the mining has died down it's a poverty stricken area. He says daddy worked like a mule mining Pike country coal. Which goes back to the coal mining days, which was a very strenuous job. One of these days you'll get out of these hills, which is saying you'll get away from here. Eastern Kentucky is nothing but hills and hollers. It's backwoods, poor, and getting out is a big task. You've got to make it somewhere to be able to leave that place behind. It's some of the most beautiful countryside you'll ever see though. A lot of good artists have come from there. Nick Jamerson is another one. He's huge in Kentucky but nowhere else. He's from Floyd county, another mining area.

Welcome to the club. The underground / non-mainstream / alt-country / Americana (whatever you want to call it) is the best scene in music. I also like all kinds of music and that is typical with a lot of fans of this type of music. BTW, he did a song with Colter Wall.

Welcome to the Tyler Childers rabbit hole man... it’s a fun ride, I’m jealous you get to go down that rabbit hole. Check out “Hard Times” “Follow You To Virgie” “Feathered Indians” “I Swear (To God)” his cover of Pink Floyd’s “Time.” He also did collaborate with Colter Wall on an old German folk song called “Frauline.” Honestly any of his tunes are great and you’re gonna love it. He’ll also lead you to other artists like Sturgill Simpson, Ian Noe, Charley Crockett, and so many more. Looking forward to more of these traditional non-pop country reactions.

Oh awesome, I haven't heard of either so definitely expect those videos soon! I know don't really know anything about post metal and the djent I've heard is Meshugga, so I'm interested to see what those bands will be like. :) Thanks for watching!
@jackdarko4486

Tool explores the post metal genre, and my preferred classification for them, as progressive metal/rock is too loose a term for the dialed in sound of Tool. If Meshugah is what comes to mind when you think of djent, you've got a very pleasant surprise coming. Animals as Leaders are absolute front runners of the scene.

If you dig Tool, I highly suggest Isis. They're the first act that comes to mind that crafts with a similar tone, cadence, and sturdiness of Tool, but creates an entirely unique sound that doesn't sound like a condensed imitation of Tool (e.g. Chevelle). I don't make the recommendation of them for your channel though, because their progressions are far slower as they focus on texture and mood more than the dramatic and pronounced purpose Tool achieves.

@@jackdarko4486 I'll definitely check them out on my own time then. One band that is a bit similar to Tool is one I found called Rishloo. Completely underrated, I reccomend the album "Feathergun In The Garden Of The Sun". Thanks so much for the recommendations, I really appreciate it :)
