The kindness and warmth of the ppl, (to black Americans vs white Americans) the culture, the fashion, the architectural aesthetic, the countryside 🥰 the pastries, cheese, wines, champagne 🥂 (yes that’s not Paris city but same country so it’s related 😂).. definitely not smellier or dirtier than nyc. Depends on where you were. New York has beautiful green spaces, forests, waterfalls, farms in upstate New York. In NYC you can find some of the same things but less and nice city areas. I'd stay away from tourist spots

Anyone that wants to go to Paris, either go to the coutryside or the main attractions like the museums and the monuments. After that there plenty of other places in France that are beautiful I live in south of France and there plenty of good destinations around here. Monaco, Saint Tropez, Nice. Bordeaux is beautiful as well.

Load the ap "the fork" and have a look on restaurants discounted prices. Be careful of thieves in metro. They will recognize you as tourist. Come back not too late be careful open your eyes. Everything will be ok. Enjoy your trip 🎉

The smell of Parisians in summer on the metros and trains, is something I'll never forget, i was in disbelief, the land of expensive perfumes, and home to top 10 of most renowned brands, but the local regular populus have no access to them, i had been to 24 countries across the world at that point and nothing prepared me for that, mind you i lived in south africa for two years, worked in angola for Chevron for 5 years, our American mindset would make us think this experiences are reserved for third world countries, now the south of france is very nice and pleasant, and folks smell little better

Yeah that’s sure , it’s their culture they have challenging relationship with soap and water and washing their clothes , they look nice from a far , but just stay there lolll it’s not only them many of the surrounding countries are the same , you hear bad things being said about poor countries all the time but this they keep under wraps, I was shocked myself that first world people are hygiene intolerant 😅never in my life had I experienced such things , at home even the mad people you see showering in the gully or rivers in the evenings. @KatWoman12 This was my experience in Brazil. I almost fell to my knees when I saw a McDonald's, I don't eat McDonald's. I had just gotten over food poisoning from seafood. I was too adventurous, ate some squid off one of the trays brought to table.

That depends on the individual. Overall that’s a European thing in general, because of the cost of hot water, electricity ..higher than in the US. They use the bidet. If the ppl you were around smelled, they prob weren’t washing their clothes frequently enough. I had some Spanish friends who wore outfits (shirts, pants) 3-4x sometimes more before washing

Look up how much of your body is made up by bacterial cells and the importance of microbiome for your skin. It is different for every individual and activity level, but washing everyday with soap even if you have been sitting all day without sweating is overkill. It's the same as the approach to teeth: americans keep their teeth whiter and give more importance to aesthetics, while Europeans don't necessarily care about that but have healthier teeth overall.

My grandparents went to Paris back in the 70s. They said it reeked of urine. I love history and I read a travelers comments about Paris back from when he first visited the city in the Middle Ages. And he even said it reeked of piss as well as a few other things that partially quote Tyler’s description of Paris. Apparently it’s always been a shitty smells city. At least since Rome first had it

Nah. I’ve been lucky enough to experience it. Imagine New York, but greyer, with dirtier streets, the smell of smoke literally everywhere. There is no escape from it. Litter is everywhere. Honestly, if you want a bang for your buck, go to Amsterdam. Beautiful place.

Nah... He was on point. I went just to see it during a trip, zero expectations because the thought never really appealed to me; even with ultra-low expectations, it was a huge disappointment. It's disgusting. It's filled to the brim with shtty, awful people. It costs about $5 to breathe. It's the only major city to make LA look good in comparison.

I just came back from Paris, I had never been, I had zero expectations, which is how I live my life. I can say, it does smell, the locals are rude, the drivers are extremely aggressive, smoking is EVERYWHERE and the city is not created for disabilities of any kind.

Sad . Paris is a beautiful walking city. Beautiful parks and Museums and the architecture of the old city. The food is amazing. The street food is delicious and inexpensive. If you go with an American mindset you have a hard time but if you go to enjoy all that "The City of Lights" has to offer it is a blast.

I love Paris 😂😂😂 The buildings were so beautiful and historical and I had some really good food there too! I also went in fall though so idk if it smells or not. I will say the Eiffel Tower was underwhelming IRL. They make it seem like it’s so massive in photos but it isn’t and in daylight it’s very plain looking. 😅

I was there about 15 years ago for work, and I HATED the food. I lived on bread, butter and yogurt, which I admit, were amazing. I finally had the idea to search for food from any other culture. I found a Chinese restaurant that was amazing - especially considering it was what I consider American Chinese. There were things I enjoyed about Paris. Average people were dressed much nicer than in the U.S.. Walking in the city, and the Metro was good too. No one was ever rude to me. That’s exaggerated or misconstrued.

He was scared of the smell. When I worked in Paris I found many many MANY beautiful restaurants in areas that smelled like either ass or urine. If it was too crowded you had to sit outside and the smell outside was TERRIBLE so if the supermarkets were closed and I was out of luck.

LOL I enjoy Paris every visit since the 90s. Places where I won't return are Rome ( I felt unsafe. There's bad energy) and the DR.

Paris is the fine food capital of the world. However it doesn’t have a great selection of take out food options which is probably why this American doesn’t like it.

@@richardpennington5445Lot's of places have a street food scene like Mexico and Korea. We broke asf, we don't want to have to spend money/time sitting at restaurants after funding a trip
