Tyneham is a tiny Dorset village that was taken over by the military in December 1943 to be used for the preparations for D Day in June 1944. It was never returned to its residents.
Although the villagers did campaign to return to the hamlet it has since stayed in the hands of the military and today its part of the British Army Lulworth tank firing ranges.
Often open at weekends and main holiday periods the village can be visited and is still very popular.
Its last resident Arthur Grant who died in 2010 was allowed to have his ashed buried in the church yard.
