I love the telephone boxes so quaint! It’s a shame about the village and it is interesting to learn about more of WWII History. Love to see more of England 🏴 thank you 😊so glad the church was kept intact. What sacrifices they made to help with the war effort.

Such a shame that this village had to be sacrificed. The school house was very interesting. I just think it is so sad. Thank you for uploading.

We're glad that the village has been preserved since then, but it is a truly sad story from fairly recent history. Thank you for commenting - glad you enjoyed this video and hope you enjoy the others on our channel!

The note placed on the church door was so sad. It’s a shame the residents were never allowed to return to their homes.

Thank you so much for watching, we love this 'lost in time' village and its history. We have taken a bit more of a prolonged break than we had originally planned but are pleased to announce that we will be back on your screens very soon! We are currently filming in Italy and will be filming a series on a Scottish Isle very soon! Thank you for your continued support while we have been on a break :)

This may sound silly, but I would love if y’all could put up a map of Dorset area of the places you visit that we could pause and look at better. I love your channel. Keep up the good work.❤

I've been there frequently cleaning out the pond a few times, the ford needed cleaning, cutting back scrub, weeding, laying paths, mending walls & fences, I've stayed in the barn overnight a few times while we were there doing the work over weekends. Tragically the MOD has removed funding for any more conservation work and we've lost the warden who ensured the displays and plants were all laid out for visitors and who managed the site mostly on a voluntary basis. So we expect the village to deteriorate again thanks possibly to government cut backs. When I first went they'd just finished restoring the village to how it was for a fil, far from the madding crowd I think, since when all film set evidence has long gone :D

That's really sad to hear that they're no longer funding the conservation work - let's hope that visitors treat the site with respect and those that can volunteers their time are able to do enough to maintain the village's current state
