But he WASN'T UGLY 😔 he WAS A BEAUTIFUL, LOST SOUL, that had more talent that any one person has in their pinky! I can empathise as to why he was so damn self-deprecating and having constant feelings of un-worthiness...I stand in AWE of this GIANT of a BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL MAN....I find myself becoming lost and wondering, what if, what if he was told, when it counted, that he had a life that would have purpose and meaning, what if, he was told when it counted, that he was going to be a heart-breaker, what if, he was told he was WORTHY.......what if

@greggrozdanis5737

I disagree. This version is good but I think the production value on the albums is just incredible. In the album version for this song, Pete's voice is gentler in the beginning, deeper in the horse part, and Kenny's singing for the freezing part is chilling.
@arthurbishop3173
4 жыл бұрын
@@greggrozdanis5737 I agree-the album version is better, largely b/c the production (think: Josh) is better, making the sound(s) clearer. I like the slower version (on the album), and you can really appreciate how much Kenny's guitar and Peter's bass are exactly together. The level of distortion is so incredibly high, that TON can only truly be appreciated at slower speeds and max distortion, 2 of the things that separate them from everyone else. Plus, the little things Josh throws in (through his keyboard playing) are easily heard on the album whereas live, some of that stuff is completely lost in the sound.

1:35-1:46 that bass sound is Josh playing. 1:47 that buzzsaw like sound is Pete pick scraping back into playing. That's the secret weapon of Type O: they have essentially two basses & guitars in Josh. Josh is a massive part of the bands sound & all that low end they have. So awesome!

In his rack he has a Furman Power condtioner(not sure what model), Korg tuner, Peavey Max Preamp which has a graphic eq on it as well as a parametric eq(his tone is just Bass and treble cranked with the mids scooped out), and discontinued Peavey power amps. He also uses Dean Markley round wound strings 50-110 gauge,and a a bass peizo system

Type O Negative was an American Gothic Metal band formed in New York City in 1989 by Peter Steele(Lead, Vocals, Bass), Kenny Hickey(Guitar, Backing Vocals), Josh Silver(Keyboards, Backing Vocals), and Sal Abruscato(Drums, Percussion) who was later replaced by Johnny Kelly. On April 14, 2010, Lead vocalist, bassist and principal songwriter Peter Steele died, reportedly from heart failure brought on by an aortic aneurysm. Members Kenny Hickey and Johnny Kelly stated in an interview with a French music magazine: Rock Hard "that the band would not continue." I know why, Peter Steele had an amazing voice and he sang like nobody else that I have ever heard. Type O Negative is awesome and Music never dies! Rock in Peace Peter Steele! 🤘🏻🖤🎸🖤😎

In response to Eyalbass, he used high output pickups into a moderately driven bass amp running with a number of horns in the cab, resulting in his rather unique raunchy tone. He often used a little chorus or flange, but the effect you are referring to is likely the Fernandes bass sustainer(like the guitar sustainer they make), as far as I know it it was a prototype and he had the only one, the little bass solo is running on the 5th harmonic mode.

Actually you are all wrong. Where as he did abuse cocaine for a long time, at the time of his death he was clean and had been for a good while. The coroner report was that he died from a ruptured colon which isn't usually a fatal condition but the toxins had made their way to his heart causing his big beautiful heart to stop beating in the ambulance on the way to the hospital. Leaving us all here on earth with huge holes in our hearts. He really was too beautiful for this world. But we are all fortunate to have had him as long as we did. I know he is in a much much better place and I hope it's the one he always dreamed of.
