heh, with all the issues you have using analog audio with digital video, you might consider just snagging one of the $99 digital Zoom recorders or maybe just a wireless lavaliere mic direct to your camera. Bonus: I find I carry my 5oz Zoom around a lot more than I ever carried around my old 5-pound PMD tape machine (and its required external mic). That way you could save a good 3-5 minutes every video not having to explain audio issues at the beginning. :D

True, that would be the easy route, but I'm steadily figuring things out! This is really only the third or fourth video (second if you count how long it sat on my computer unedited)

Great video! On the tangent of Chapman screwdrivers: they are great when working on "imperial typewriters", but there are no metric bits in that set. That bummed me out a bit.

Yeah, most older machines (primarily American) were all imperial up to the end of the second world War.

Grand video as always! I've never seen a well-developed review of the product am and happy to see one. It's a shame that the original tools are extraordinarily difficult to find. I'm relatively new to typewriter repair and have removed keys using pliers and screwdrivers to cautiously remove the chrome/nickel rings. Needless to say, it's tedious work that I avoid unless imminently required.

What if I told you there was a single pair of key ring pliers for handling all diameters of tabbed and interference-fit key rings without the need for multiple plates. :) Anyways, you've inspired me to finally get to recording a video on my Dreusicke "universal" key ring pliers.

Well, that would excite me quite a bit

@@katherinetaylor6575 The "Dreusicke 'universal' key ring pliers" as mentioned in the original comment is that exact tool. I did a video on my channel covering it in detail.

Hi Lucas, I have a question for you, if you did not repair your typewriters. Yourself and you took them to another repair person What questions would you ask them? Thank you so much.

I feel like the majority of questions I would ask are becuase I repair machines. Otherwise, I'd ask to make sure what kinds of adjustments they planned on making, and what parts they would swap out. Usually that's up to the customer, and the repair man is the one who should be asking questions! If the customer isn't knowledgeable, then it's the repair guys job to inform the customer of all procedures and needs.
