Definitions of Terms You Will Hear in This Video:
Stroke: The length that the cylinder rod extends.
Bore: The diameter (or thickness) of the cylinder body.
Universal Mount: A cylinder that has mounting threads at both ends.
Nose Mount: A cylinder that only has mounting threads at the nose (or front) of the cylinder.
Double Acting; A cylinder that uses the force of air both to extend and retract the cylinder rod.
Single Acting; A cylinder that uses the force of air to extend the cylinder rod, but uses an internal spring to retract it.
Reverse Acting: A cylinder that uses the force of air to retract the cylinder rod and an internal spring to extend it.
