Noto Peninsula in the Sea of Japan.
This time, I filmed a lure called "Tail mackerel" underwater.
The lure has a head sinker, a fluttering skirt, a tie and a burrito attached to it. It is very popular because of its simple fishing method. All you have to do is reel the lure in at a constant speed after it lands on the bottom and you can catch fish.
I used the Daiwa Keniwa Baylover and the Shimano Flat Baku-Baku lure for the second half of the session.
A rare squid appeared as a visitor and attacked the tilefish. We went back and forth to the layer where the squid was, but it only attacked us and did not hold onto the tilefish in a big way.
After repeating several times, the squid disappeared. After that, we changed the point and did tie-labouring around the shallow and deep reefs. We tried tilefish for about an hour, but we couldn't get a bite. Then I moved to the deep reefs. We saw not only grouper and scorpionfish but also sea bass and red snapper in the deep reefs. Since we could see many species of fish, we challenged the tilefish again. I found a clear bite on a tilefish at the edge of the reef after several times.
It's a kijihata grouper. It wasn't a big grouper, but I caught a Kijihata grouper of less than 30cm. After that, I changed the title lures to Flat BAKUBAK and attacked around the reefs. After landing a few times, the tie came close and bit the rubber part!
Unfortunately, I didn't get a hook on it, but I could see it attacking several times afterwards. And when it landed on the bottom soon after, I got a bite! The scorpion bites! It wasn't a big sized scorpionfish either, but we were able to catch it safely.
This time we caught only root fish, but we succeeded in filming a tilefish in the water. Unfortunately, we couldn't film the hit scene of Thailand, so we would like to try again for tilefish.
The adventure in the sea continues in search of the unknown giant fish.
Today's stars: yellowtail, red snapper, blue grouper, squid, scorpionfish, yellowfin grouper, sea bass, red snapper
