Shame that he came from a weak era and Tyson too people don't realize that Tyson was pretty unlucky too for being in a weak heavyweight era at the time and sure in the 90s he def fought the greats in that era but a issue with this is he was kinda past his prime and also imprisonment for false accusations. Bowe was the first boxer to beat prime Holyfield and the only one to actually knock him out. After Bowe gave Holyfield his first loss, making him champion, he built a mansion and lost all interest in boxing. Bowe was finished long before the Golata fights. Soft spoken Lennox Lewis at his best was the total package. The last undisputed Heavyweight champion emerged as cream of the crop against some of the biggest punchers in Heavyweight history. Lennox avenged his only two defeats by knockout. He didn't make excuses for his losses, he said, *"It's Heavyweights, you can get caught, but i won the rematches in style,"* and *"Show me a Heavyweight champion without a loss and i'll show you a fighter that fought a lot of nobodies."* In my opinion Lennox Lewis is the GOAT. To hear 58 year old Lennox talk so clearly and eloquently after going up against 18 Heavyweight Champions is remarkable. The 18 HW Champions Lewis faced: *Vitali Klitschko, Evander Holyfield, Mike Tyson, Shannon Briggs, Frank Bruno, Tony Tucker, Hasim Rahman, Oliver McCall, Mike Weaver, Henry Akinwande, Tommy Morrison and Ray Mercer were later recognized as WBO champions, British HW champion Gary Mason, European HW champion Jean Chanet, Commonwealth HW champion Derek Williams, Canada HW champion Razor Ruddock, IBF/WBF HW champion Michael Grant, and WBC International HW champion David Tua...[[ technically not all were 'World' champions but champions nonetheless ]]. Other notable mentions; Olympic HW Silver medalist Riddick Bowe, Olympic HW Gold medalist Tyrell Briggs, Andrew Golota, Zeljko Mavrovic, Frans Botha and Phil Jackson*

Until father time comes knocking, I couldn't bet against this man. And Fury would have been a stern test for anyone in history. @@thialhoinj1971I disagree. I think Foreman always had a Very good fight IQ. He manipulated fighters stance with his framing, something Fury used to do as well. It just got exposed by Ali because Ali threw straights the whole fight. All that shoving and outstretched arms made it difficult for a lot of this fighters do land their over hands and hooks. It just worked all the way up to Ali. Frazier couldn’t get near him cause he was constantly pawing and pushing. Ali realised you could just throw straight lefts and rights up the middle. Pretty soon people caught onto his tricks after Ali and he did reinvent himself defensively in his 40’with the cross guard borrowed from Norton. I think he let pride get in the way with the rope -a-dope and had started to believe in his own hype. Everyone told him he should end Ali and stop him easily. If he had his feet on the ground, he would’ve realised no one ended Ali like that. It was only because he was destroying people easily who gave Ali tough fights. I think for the most part he was a smart fighter but the odd occasion l, he did get outfoxed like against Young, he also was drawn into the odd firefight like against Rob Lyle. I think a lot of the other fights he lost were because he was just too fat and old. He made his Experience even things up a little more v Evander. He did have crazy moments but for his time, though George was Pretty scientific, I just didn’t think he was diverse enough when he was younger.

Im a small dude so I always go for the little guys but I honestly think no matter how great the smaller man is, eventually the bigger man will win. I see Tyson fury adjusting and probably winning the rematch
@Highonlife24

You act like Usyk won’t make adjustments. Usyk was already beyond Fury in skill and stamina already and now he’s just going to learn from this fight and add on top of what he already has. I don’t see Fury beating Usyk. No matter how many adjustments he makes.

I’m an old man,I’ve seen the old timers fight,as a whole I agree with you but even some of the greats of old struggled at times with mediocre types due to styles.Usyk is special regardless of time period.

Holding the goat list at a high standard like nobody can ever be place in that list is stupid. Usyk is far too skilled to be dismissed from the goat discussion. He's there amongst Mike tyson Muhammad Ali Joe Louis rocky marciano George foreman. Not saying he beats them but just look at how he fights you can't deny his skillset he's more than capable of upsetting a few of the goats.

100% agree, I re watched the fight and his work was outstanding....usyk pressure fighting is with fraziers, it doesn't look as ruff, but not once in the fight against fury did he not reply with something or pressure him with his circle jabs ect. Usyk is definitely the best pressure fighter we have in the heaveyweight division

Crazy to think that Muhammad Ali and Oleksandr Usuk have the same height, reach, and birthday.
Idk about that Showbizz, that coffee you drinking must have too much cream. Let’s not forget that Tyson Fury has been in the game for a minute and is one of the most prolific fighters in his division. History will always have the Gypsy King Era

Its not a contest because todays fighters are more experienced and have better opportunities to become better.
@Highonlife24
25 күн бұрын
No they don’t have more experience because todays fighters fight less compared to fighters of the past and they are either avoiding each other because they don’t want to risk an L on their record or boxing promoters and organizations that these fighters represent don’t put them against one another because the don’t want to lose their belts to another boxing organization. AKA greed.

the prime heavy weights of back then were like alpha athletes. guys that were insanely athletic and probably among the best athletes of their generation it's not even fair to compare the current heavy weights. think of guys that are the best basketball players athletically, nfl stars thletically but instead of doing those sports they went to boxing.

None of those fighters would be able to fight the fight usyk did, if you watched rounds 3-7 that would be what fury would do to these ancient fighters
@billyettouati1124

I agree. But I also think that major height and reach is a distinct advantage over most heavyweights. I believe if Tyson fury wasn’t a giant he would be an average heavyweight. He gets away with a lot of stuff because of his size. But on fighting bigger guys I think it has a lot to do with training style the fact that not every heavyweight fighter can cut the ring off and come forward very well because there used to being chased or working somewhere in the middle expending less energy.

Usyk is just that good. Man was olympic gold and also 355-15 amateur record. He beat the top HWs and CWs to take all the belts. Won the ali trophy. And has a very tricky style He beats alot of them old HWs. On paper and on style. With what is known about sport science today and the high level training, nutrition usyk gets.
