In Tyrion's pov there's a quote about how Kevan had never had a thought Tyein hadn't had first. Given Kevan's advice to Cersei in this chapter I wonder how true that is, and how many of Tywin's plans/ideas could have originated from Kevan.

Straight away the symbolism is insane, we’ve got an archetypal Child of the Forrest/Green Woman in Cersei symbolically calling forth a storm and lightning in her rage with lightning (a symbolic hammer) shaking the ground which is a clear Hammer of the Waters reference While also wishing for the ice and snow, sounding like the long night And the reason for this green woman wishes for the hammer of the waters is because of a wedding…

In the show UnGregor smashed Qyburn on a wall and that actually might be a fitting end for him. George's many awful villains might be horrible to think about but it's fun when they clash against each other. In this chapter Cersei actually wanted to be merciful to Clegane but then she gave him to Qyburn. I actually experienced schadenfreude at that point and then was horrified at myself

OK fine it's Tyrion (only?) who has dragon dreams and it's more compelling if Cersei and Aerys are unrelated while having the parallels... still, anything is possible! It's just more interesting and ironic if Tywin is not the dad of the good-looking-but-disappointing twins, and the actual dad of the less-attractive-but-clever one. External vs internal traits, reflecting Tywin's legacy that was all just about appearances.

So apparently Oberyn studied magic as well as poisons at the Citadel. It might stand to reason then that one or more of his daughters would also have a working knowledge of magic, as he seems to have passed his various skills on to them. Being a protege of Marwyn Sarella almost certainly has some understanding of the arcane arts, but it's equally possible that Nym or Tyne might also have such knowledge as they both seem to have learned something of poisons from Oberyn.

This chapter perfectly highlights how Kevan is the best Lannister and Cersei is the worst. Kevan demonstrates an intelligence and insight comparable to Tywin or Tyrion but doesn't appear to be burdened with the narcissism or emotional trauma that Tywin has spread throughout his family. Meanwhile Cersei barely thinks twice about giving up Sir Gregor for torturous experimentation and death, after his years of faithful service to House Lannister which has benefited her most recently, all the while questioning the "loyalty" of everyone around her, most of whom have already done more for her than she ever has for anyone.

Before I read the books, I started the show. I was convinced Cersei would end up victorious above all in a bittersweet twist. Now that I’ve read the books, I no longer think that, but do feel she will end up showing up to the party when all seems lost for her to only find an epic demise.

It makes me laugh and drives me crazy, listening to people dream up so many theories. Cersei being the mad kings daughter, just because she's crazy. They forget that Joanna was related to Tywin, Jamie and Cercei are children of incest, and incest is the reason for Targayan madness. They also forget, before they start comparing her to Aers. Tywin is a phyco as well. The man ordered the butchery of Ellia and her children, attempted Genocide on the Targayans. And let's not forget tne Genocide he committed on House Rhaine. Phyco farther + incest = Insanity

The Maegor critics annoy me, Maegor at first wasn't that bad. It wasn't until after he brought down the faith militant that he began to change. In that final battle he took a life threatening blow to the head. That kind of head trauma can cause brain damage. They never think about how good he was in the beginning, and they certainly don't think his change was caused by brain damage. True that Bonding with a dragon can make the Targayans immune to illness., but nowhere does it say it can stop you from being physically damaged by injury, it just makes it less likely for the injury to become infected or kill you. Eg, if you ioose your hand in battle, the bond won't make your hand grow back, but your less, likely to die from an infection while it heals. Same for, Maegor, the dragon bond would have roped his injury becoming infected but it wouldn't have grown back any aspect of his brain that was beyond repair. In Deep Geek did a very good video on Maegor going into this possibility in depth, and I think it is very likely the reason for his change.

Selphie, I did 3 3-hour live streams reading through and discussing every sentence about Maegor in Fire and Blood. I can both foster discussion without a script as well as read the story coherently. You are categorically and definitely wrong. The character was written to embody the word psychopath, has no redeemable traits save martial prowess, and committed countless murders, tortures, and even genocided all of House Harroway. "Maegor wasnt actually cruel" is the wrongest take in the entire fandom. in no sense was his story written for people like you to squint at it and be like "well actually..." you're a grade A moron
