Bayonet Gauge (when he checks oil level). I never heard that term before, always called it a dipstick.

I just performed this pre trip on a semi . This very similar to the DMV portion of the exam and something we d9 everyday before driving.

great video, pity the vehicles are not like this now in 2021. had similar training in 1967 on the Bedford RL trucks in england. but everything seems auto these days making drivers lazy

where did they train army drivers in the 1950s? did they have different designations for truck and Jeep or regular automobile drivers in the Army?

Great vid. Just don't understand how can they drive a vehicle with manual transmission with boots. I can only do it with Converse.

Give it a few minutes to cool a touch and use a rag to avoid scalding yourself with steam. I was more curious on how he managed to dip the oil level on an engine that has just finished running?
