My father was also there with 7th Division, 32nd Inf. 3rd Battalion. It was his second amphibious assault after the Aleutians campaign in Spring of '43. Later in the war, the 7th Div. helped recapture the islands of Leyte and Okinawa. Brave men, all.

I can picture that reporter using the N-word with relish, pre civil-rights shit and all, even his use of the "Yanks" for Americans sounded derogatory, guy would be perfect for the Yankees during their games against the Red Sox!
