You don't have to apologize, your a medical student and the people that watch your VLOG should understand your very busy. I think it's very kind that your sharing your experience. Others with medical school student Vlog's have sponsors, your VLOG is better than most and should get some sponsors. I personally like your VLOG for the reason that you actually talk on Medicine. This is what I like to view: medical school textbooks used and the person studying and reading out loud. Possibly summarizing the class lectures and readings out loud. Some other medical students talk of everything else. I'm an older student and I'm thinking of going to a Caribbean or Philippine medical school. My first wife is a physician and I know some of the difficulties of medical school etc... The amount of reading in the first two years is incredible. I think high yield books is the only way to go. I'm studying and reading all the time and have questions with no person to ask. Example is Dubin's rapid interpretation of EKG's. It's a great book but I don't feel confident yet. What are your thoughts? Why did you choose the Philippines over the Caribbean? Your undergraduate degree is from the States. Some of the schools in the Caribbean are at a 99% pass rate but, I'm worried on the attrition rate which most don't want to comment on.

Here's a question for next week I'm trying to master EKG's (ECG in Some Communities) Is there a book yo can recommend. I have Dubin's Rapid interpretation of EKG's, which is great I'm half way through but' I need another source to test my knowledge, Some person recommended the Author John R. Hampton " The ECG Made Easy" and another Mary M. Canobbio "Cardio Vascular Disorders Vol don't know.. 1" Any recommendations we don't have any medical bookstore in NYC any long I know it's sad. Some person said Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons had a medical bookstore but, I don't know it's all the way up near the George Washington Bridge. Take your time in responding I have a interview info session with Ross University School of Medicine at the famous Intercontinental Hotel in New York City at the beautiful Time Square location. The area now is all owned by Disney. I love Mickey Mouse. See you later alligator.

I chose the Philippines because the tuition fee is a lot cheaper here and since I'm already familiar with the language and culture here (because I grew up here). But yes, majority of students from the carribean go to U.S. after their studies, so the carribean might be a better choice for you

As for medical textbooks, I think you can just order on amazon. It's all there most of the time. Plus, you'll learn all the other things once you are in medschool, so no need to worry about it now since you'll eventually learn them all from your professors. They'll also be the ones to recommend the books good for those reviews

Thanks, for the reply. The Caribbean schools look attractive but, I'm really attracted to East Asian and Philippine women. I'm single again. I have to study and I probably won't have much time for dating but, I'm human and have needs like every other person. I'd like to find an intelligent beautiful wife. I was married to a Philippine woman here in the United States for five years. I brought her son here after we where married. She is very nice but, we where broken up, politics. I also know some other people from the Philippines from college and from work. There very nice people. The Philippine nurses have a outstanding reputation, knowledgeable, kind, compassionate, caring in the US. I just love them. I don't know Tagalog am I going to have a problem? I don't now how I'd react to the diet. I do buy the products marked Philippines to help my friends there and don't have a problem. Del Mounte in the Philippines has sent some fantastic quality to the US. Some of the other companies are doing really good like with the mangoes. In addition, did you know the Philippines is the second largest supplier of coconut products in the world. I'm also a vegetarian am I going to have a problem? My friend Pablo's wife was a pharmacist in the Philippines and it took her a long time to pass the test and finish a residence in the United States (US) but, she did have raise her children. I'd like to do clerkships (3rd and 4th years) like the Caribbean medical schools in the US is that possible. The Philippine people are so beautiful, don't you agree.

BA degree with prerequisite courses (biology, chemistry, physics, organic chemistry, etc.) 2. Transcript of Records from college 3. Official NMAT score 4. Application form provided by the medical school 5. Application Fee 6. Birth Certificate/Photocopy of passport/2X2 photo 7. Certificate of good moral character/police clearance/proof of financial support 8. One time Endowment fee of 10,000USD if a foreigner 대충 이정도 준비하시면 되고 또 각 학교 마다 요구하는 것이 다르기도 해서 그 학교 requirement 에 따라 또 준비하시면 됩니다~! Hope this helps! Very informative, thank you! Besides getting into additional clinical rotations in the US & getting satisfactory grades in the USMLE, what other factors might help put IMGs in a better position considering that they are in fact at a disadvantage to enter residency and increase chances of getting matched/accepted? I hope you do get my point and i apologize for how my question is constructed. I still lack knowledge on this paricular area. And if you have time or plans on your next video , might you consider steps on applying for additional clinical rotations in the US?

Hey! Sorry for the late reply. If you are still aiming for US, then research experience, leadership experience, extracurriculars can help. But USMLE score is still a big factor. FYI STEP 1 will turn into a pass/fail exam by 2022. In terms of clinical rotations in the US, there are many ways to apply for it. And you can do it as an elective in your internship year. Hopefully if travel bans are lifted by the time you are an intern. And yes, US clinical rotations can definitely help with your residency applications as well. Some get their recommendation letters from the consultants they meet during their clinical rotation in US. Hope these help! :)

First learn American English, make syre your papers are correct, clean and you don't have any legal problems. You have to have at least 1 year residency (Rotating Internship in my days) Pass the ECFMG before you can be considered for a placement. After you passed the ECFMG, done with your PGY-1 (Post Graduate Year one), check whatever other requirements before applying for State Board Exam. Set your plans to whatever you want to do. Can't be wishy washy. Aim high and shoot for the stars. Make plans on what you want to do, not change to nursing, be prepared for little drawbacks or failures.

Hi there! We actually do have a guy in our school who's from Canada. I'm just not sure what his plans are after medschool here. But to answer your questions: 1. Tuition fee here in the Philippines is a lot cheaper than tuition fees in the Carribean. Also, I grew up in this country, so I am more familiar with the culture, language, and the people here. 2. You don't have to go to a prestigious school if that's not essentially your goal. As long as you work hard in your school, do well, study really hard for your future patients, and pass the licensing exams to receive the medical license, it should be okay. :) Hope my answers are helpful! Good luck to you and your endeavors! :)
