(English below)
It is the eighth song on the album. One of the most successful of U2's career. It was recorded as a demo with a percussive base from a drum machine. During the recording sessions in Berlin they had a lot of trouble finishing the song, even Bono had a big discussion with producer Daniel Lanois. In the middle of all that confusion, the song “one” ended up being composed. They managed to finish the mix in Berlin, although later they added some final touches. It was released as the second single and had great success on the American charts, thus managing to overcome the discreet numbers of their previous single in the American market. The music video was shot in Morocco and features a belly dancer. This belly dance was taken to the Zoo Tv tour where during the performance of the song a Belly dancer dances seductively. As a curiosity to say that one of the dancers, Morleigh Steinberg, ended up marrying The Edge.
It has been performed on all the tours and the invitation that Bono makes for a woman from the audience to dance with him has become a hallmark.
