@bmay282

That's due to the greed of the executives.CEOs took 40% pay increases over the last few years and passed that on to the consumer while they cut labor pay. Workers used to be able to afford the cars they made and could pay for their own homes too! Incomes need to be realigned to the modern cost of life.

Wages for the worker that build cars account for approximately 5% of total cost of the car. I agree car prices are crazy! Imagine not being able to afford the exact car that you help build every day. Sad!

While these three corporations bank tens of Billions each year they use to buy back stock and give their CEO pay raises. The workers gave up a great deal when the auto manufacturers nearly went under in 2008. Now that these companies are profitable once again it's time to share the riches.

They are not asking for anything close to the normal union wage. The pay of 27 dollars an hour is not a living local commute based on the cost of housing and the normal business practices to lease a one bedroom apartment of 4xr one bedroom apartment local commute should be required by police and welfare departments rightfully to reduce homeless population across the country. Minimum wage act and social security act enforced correctly locally by police and welfare departments as legislated instead of decreed by the president.

To speak corporate, they are creating a wonderful “opportunity” for these companies to move south of the U.S. border and cut their labor cost to about $6 per day. Eventually 1of 3 things will happen and none of them are positive for the work force. 1 the companies will go bankrupt. 2 the companies will move operations out of country. 3 the companies will invest in technology that will eliminate more jobs. These companies will eventually have to make a move, they can’t and won’t survive, things will change. The middle class in America is being eliminated by the move to socialism by the democrat party, the middle class supports our economy and when they’re gone so are the unrealistic wages. Socialism means everyone is poor except the politicians.
