I use to have one of these when I was a kid. You said that you are not sure why it has two gas tanks. The reason behind that is that this was originally designed as a military vehicle so when you go deep on a mission on enemy's land you use one tank and once that tank is empty you know that you reached the point were you need to turn back if you want to return to the point where you started otherwise you will be stuck in enemy's territory. In the military versions like the one I had, there should be a valve under the driver's seat that would allow you to shift between gas tanks.

Thank you very much. I have one as well. Summer time I take off the canvas, bent down the screen and I drive a road legal openair car, what even has not got safety belts, because my one a "retired" army car. I put a diesel Mercedes engine in, since this time I don't have any issues with ignition system and carburator. I day by day amaze about symplicity of this car. Symple, 7 seater, 4x4, the parts are coasts like an icecream. There are army car breaker shops here, everything is available. Cleaning: Just open the doors, and wash by same jetgun inside, as you use for outside. The doors have big pockets, 2 liter of coke is ok. Not fast. But my country is full with speed cameras as well. The UAZ's superpower is: light. This car's weight is 1500 kg. Amazingly good at offroad conditions. Sometimes I am surprised, sometimes I am scared :D Greatings from Hungary

The lift is great but those rims just don't belong on a UAZ. These cars used to be very common in offroad here in Poland but after 90's when western vehicles started coming in, they were replaced by newer, more comfortable and powerful cars- mostly Japanese like Suzuki, Nissan and Toyota and Jeeps. But now that pretty much no one other than Jeep sells classic offroad cars- body on frame, two rigid axles, transfer case- in Europe, I feel like UAZ will make a comeback in Central-Eastern Europe. The only reason it didn't so far is bc of the import fees driving its price to ridiculous levels. If not for that I can totally see it bought in droves by the construction industry and people who need a cheap and capable car for going out into the woods. Also from the sounds, it made I'm pretty sure you drove it on 4LO on a paved road. That's 1) not very healthy for the transfer case and 2) Makes you REALLY slow bc that's an Offroad Only gear.

Reliaibility is a funny thing. This can be a well-done component what lasts forever, but if it's broken, it's FUBAR. This is kind of Porsche reliability. UAZ's reliability it's a kind of anything would be permanently broken, but she would be on the run and has her 4 x 4 operating. If it's a critical failure, it can be fixed by insulation tape, WD-40 and leftovers from yesterday's canned beer.

It's a crime we can't get these state side, as is the Bremach Taos. The US market is glutted with overpriced CUV garbage. And the Chicken Tariff has been letting automakers be lazy in their designs and pricing.

How did y’all import a 2017? Don’t those gave to be 25 years old? Unless you imported it as an off-road vehicle.

You shouldn't make the video with your sarcastic attitude, it's an off road military vehicle. It doesn't required to have air conditioner or fancy display. Made in Soviet Union dozens years ago.

if they sold them in the uk I would buy as I have driven one in oopps that's not for here, yes there a little rough but drive them right, 4 wheel drive for off road and so it should be in neutral and to be right get rid of the tyres they run better with the Russian tyres, them big wide things will be no good in the mud to wide no grip , and you can smooth it a little but its a great off road 4x4 I like them and then you have the gaz jeep just as much fun and then the Ural and Zil all great trucks made in russia

They're legal in Europe, see them from time to time. Why are they not legal in USA? Presumably due to the lack of airbags etc?

Najpierw piłem. Później rzuciłem picie dla heroiny. Później znowu piłem, nie brałem. Zacząłem już w podstawówce. Pamiętam jak w ostatniej klasie zarzygałem dywan dyrektora, bo na szkolnej imprezie przemyciliśmy piwa i tanie wina (tam mnie zaprowadził wzywając policję). Wtedy pierwszy raz trafiłem do Izby Dziecka. Dzisiaj to wiem. Znalazłem sobie hobby - komputery i sport (uprawiam;). I Zawsze pamiętam kim jestem, a jestem alkoholikiem i narkomanem. To "moje DNA" i już zawsze będę czujny. Od 13 lat jestem trzeźwy. 3

Well it depends on how much it costs. In sweden they charge 15 000 dollars for these which is way too much, but if they could half that, then why not.

I love this beast. I would love to get it with soft top. You can imagine how cool it look with top down. Another super chill car you may want to review is Lada Niva. That one is beast too. Brand new costs some 6000 euros or sth
