So just wanna give this a quick run down. I have been going to place for counseling for a few years now. And while at that place I was offered a second place to go for counselor. So I agreed to take part in that. One major issue I had was the drive to this second place. It was just a little far for me to be driving to multiple times a week. Also considering I'm already going to counseling somewhere which by the way is much closer than the second place so I have no issues going there.
I told all this to my counselor and she spoke to someone at the new place I was going for counseling and they offered to arrange for me to get an Uber back and forth to sessions. So I was okay with that. I thought that was great of them to do so.
So Monday morning I was picked up by an Uber driver, that was my first time being in an Uber and it went well. The guy didn't really talk so it was kinda awkward silence but the point is is that he knew exactly where he was dropping me off at.
I get to the place around 9:00am - 9:15am and waited for group to start. Mind you, and I mentioned this in my vlog earlier this week that I hadn't been feeling well. I was having some serious stomach pains. Anyhow, I went to the first group, felt totally uncomfortable and sick at the same time. That was making my anxiety go up, the being uncomfortable. I stuck it out for the first group then shortly after the 1st group ended I decided I was too sick and needed to go home, take some meds and rest. So the girl at the front desk said okay and that she would call an Uber for me so I said okay thanks.
Skip to the part where the Uber driver showed up. This is where things get heated. The guy showed up and had the route set in his phone, obviously like most Uber drivers do. Now, here comes the problem. My street name is the same as an address downtown. I live in the suburbs. This guy tries to drop me of 2 or 3 different times on random corners downtown. So I start getting angry because he was going on about how he had been doing Uber for 3 years now and never had an issue. I kept telling him he had the wrong address which he countered by showing me his phone and that my ride was only 3 minutes from where he picked me up, downtown. I tried telling him that was a mistake and he still insisted on trying to drop me off. I told him that was the wrong address and I live away from downtown. He then says he's not talking me there because it was too far. So finally, after arguing with this guy I got him to drop me back off from where he picked me up at.
I go back inside, livid, because I almost got left stranded downtown without and means of paying for a ride home. Ultimately it was the girl behind the desk at the new counseling place's fault because she told him the downtown address. People just assume I'm talking about downtown when I have to give my address for things. So I told her the correct address and I wasn't very pleasant about it because of what almost happened to me. They should have all the correct info on me when they did the intake procedure.
That's basically the jist of it. After that, I know it was one time but that left a bad impression on me so I am extremely hesitant to do any kind of ride sharing. Thankfully they got another Uber driver to take me home.
