All I have to say is that everyone is being really dramatic. They played teams ranked higher than them and it showed their flaws, all of these things can get fixed over time. including turnovers. They just just about 10 games into the season and there’s still a long way to go. You can’t say they won’t go to the final four FROM NOW because it just doesn’t make sense, Virginia tech went to the final four last year, a team NO ONE expected to be in the semifinals. The unc game showed improvement, specially with the new completely different line up. As in for the older players, they did well, not wow, but pretty well for having to readjust, nika’s turnovers were huge yes, but she gave us some 3 pointers, Aaliyah and Aubrey had good rebounds, missed easy ones too, but still it was good considering the fact that unc had maria and she is taller than the both of them. Uconn tends to play better at home, idk if that’s something I only see but the Louisville game will finally show how much they have been working and I do think uconn will have this extra dose of serotonin that will make them win. put up a fight atleast. This is the same situation for many teams that were put out the list but proved people wrong. Sc lost in the semi-finals, a team expected to repeat, LSU’s weak schedule made them not a title contender, iowa plays easy too, many people thought Caitlin can’t do it all, Villanova was in the sweet 16, Miami beat no.1 seed Indiana, Stanford fell to ole miss whilst having almost their full roster hailey jones, Cameron brink, fran belibi, etc..etc. it took geno 10 years to win a championship, with teams like Tennessee, southern cal having all the heat, what makes y’all think he can’t do it again? even if they had injuries? people need to relax. there’s still the big east tournament and competitive games in between. Last year’s team has had SO MUCH injury and still had a better record than most teams with their full healthy rosters including iowa who was in the championship game.

Yes, everyone needs to relax. The Louisville game will be a good indicator to see UConn making progress. As long as Paige is in the lineup, UConn is a threat. Yes, they have to protect the ball better, rebound better and play better team defense. With the exception of few teams, one could pinpoint areas of improvement on every team. What I would like to see is the defense generate some easy baskets & get into transition more to take some pressure off the half court offense. When UConn walks the ball up court, they’ve displayed a tendency to stand around. I’m looking for UConn to capitalize on the NC game, and would like to see the other seniors besides Paige lead the charge, with healthy contributions from the freshmen.

THANK YOU! That's what I have been saying. If every other team in the country played against these teams (with the exception of South Carolina) I would guarantee they would lose at least 2/3, especially in the beginning of the season. People don't realize UConn had a plan at the beginning of the season that had to quickly be scrapped and they are in the process of making a new one. All I hear is how UConn won't make a deep run this year but I'm sure a lot of people said that in 2022 as well. Obviously, there are so many good teams this year so there is always a chance they could lose but UConn is always different in March. I'm expecting to see at least an elite 8 or final 4 appearance.

I agree with your assessment of UCONN. In their last game too many turn overs, not enough rebounding and too many missed lay ups. I'm a UCONN fan but I still don't see them going deep in the NCAA tournament. They definitely need a productive big or two from the portal next season regardless if El Alfy is back fully from injury or not..

Honestly, other than rebounds, those aren’t the worst problems to have. While there were some silly turnovers I thought there was a little bit of improvement with taking care of the ball. Not to the point where I think they would like or we would but I thought there was some improvement at least compared to the Texas game. It also seemed like most of the missed layups came from Aubrey Griffin. Hopefully she was just having an off night…

3-5 years ago , this team would still be dominating. The field of women’s college basketball has grown tremendously. The talent was grown tremendously. you cannot just rely on one player anymore (Caitlyn Clark makes it look easy but she has a lot of supporting help. Kate Martin is a serious threat and so are a few others). I am a HUGE UConn fan since I played against Sue Bird in HS and AAU back in the 90s- i. just grew to love them and the program. Their domination is over in women’s basketball quite honestly. Now, it’s, can they recover and play deep into the tourney? They will not go deep as things stand right now. The other the ing is … they don’t look much better w Azzi (and she was not injured at that point) and Carol. Ducharme has a hurt ego right now, more then anything else

However, she came back for a 5th year to work on her outside shooting, and i gave to tip my cap to he, she’s shooting very well, not for ing shots. I also think, moving off the ball has helped her & UCLA. Giving the keys to Kiki Rice was the right call because she is a stud and has a flair to her game. I think they will beat Louisville. A team that has played absolutely no one. Look at the Maryland and North Carolina games. UConn is clearly a better team at home. Again though, this team has a ceiling. Sweet 16 or elite eight (depending on match ups). Nika is shooting well right now. But what about when she starts to slump? Will she offer the team enough to stay on the floor? Will Geno have the balls to take her off the court? He seems to be unwilling to do that right now.

Your assessment was okay. However, PB will need to step up more regarding ranked teams. That statement was not a put-down, it is reality. I guess the best way that I can explain this and I don't like doing it, is to use Caitlyn Clark as an example. Yes CC takes 30-35 shots per game, she also dishes assists more often than PB and is a better Rebounder than PB. Some people say that that Iowa would be nothing without CC, if that is true that is where my comparison goes. I know in the past Geno has said he wants PB to shoot the ball, so maybe she needs to shoot the ball...30-35 times a game. That is until they find the right line-up and that line-up plays consistently. Edwards, Griffin, and Muhl are not playing consistently Edwards is more than the other two. Yes, I am saying that PB needs to do more until they find a rhythm. I am NOT faulting PB at all, she is a good player, a player who needs more help out on the court. PB is basically all that they have. Now I am waiting for the poison!
@matthewreese3907
9 ай бұрын
I think it’s easier to say to shoot as much as CC when she’s able to make deep shots that not many other people can make on a regular basis. I do think PB should take and create her own shot when she an open look or drive but I also think she has a better supporting cast with her to pass it to. Iowa doesn’t have someone like kk or Aubrey who are super athletic and are not afraid to drive. That’s why I don’t think the method of chucking up that many shots a game from Paige will work. I think she needs to be able to get more assists like she did her freshman year. It will add even more unpredictability about her. But right now, I think she looks really good.
@RichardIILionheart

First, Caitlin Clark does not shoot 30-35 times per game. She is averaging just under 20 shots per game for her college career to date. Second, it is not clear that Paige Bueckers could really get herself 30-35 shots in any game against reasonably tough competition.

@@RichardIILionheart I stand corrected, I just went to look that stat up and she averages 21.5 shots per game just making her that much better. Saying UConn only beat UNC by 12, is funny considering the #1 team in the country only beat them by 7…. If UConn is so bad and beat them by 12, why didn’t SC blow them out by 30? Also UConn got up as much as 19 in that game SC never had that big of a lead on UNC. This UConn team is much better than people think. I think people are being real delusional expecting a team that has lost two main scoring contributors to be undefeated against the schedule UConn plays. UConn currently has the number #1 SOS. And they have been trying to learn how to play together against really really good competition. We’ve literally have seen this same story the last two years. They get injured they take some losses and find a way to gel and play together. Ya’ll stop putting up videos downing UConn every game. If you don’t think they’ll be good cool, but why continue to make video after video even when they win discussing why they still aren’t good. You’re using the UConn name and fans to get views on your videos and that shit is weak. UConn is #17 but your posting videos on them like they’re in the top five. According to the poll there are 16 other teams you could be focusing on, yet ya’ll are still concerned about UConn. But ya’ll wonder why UConn gets the media attention they get because ya’ll can’t help but to talk about them. And that’s why the attention they get won’t ever change.

So my point is making a video about how UConn won against UNC but not how SC won against UNC because of where the game was played seems biased. Hi thanks for your comments. I didn't think I dismissed the UConn win but not sure, as did not re watch video as a bit painful to listen to my s _ _ _ voice. Overall I thought they got a tough gritty win and did what they needed to do to take pressure off. Overall I was trying to say they are a work in process and should be fun to see how they develop over the season. The reason I focus on UConn currently as I have the ability to watch their games more than others. I work full time and have 5 kids so it limits my time a bit. I hate the video where you just know the person is reading the recap - as like to watch the games and see what I think. Not saying it is great but would rather focus more on one team and have a feel for what they are doing or understand it better. As well UConn is easier to cover as just more info on it. Anyway, thinks for watching and giving my videos a chance as the most important thing we have in life is time and appreciate that you gave my video some of yours. Sorry that you did not like it.
