That is a very well built building. I am surpised that it hasn't been restored and used in another way. The brick work even inside was impressive.

What an impressive looking building this was. Found an early picture and history of this farm. The residents of the Poor Farm (Infirmary) where buried on the property without ceremony. In later years it was used as a Rest Home. One room on the end looked like it was in the process of renovation. Indeed it was, but the project was abandoned.

My great great great uncle is buried in the cemetery at the poor house. I just found that out last night. I have no idea if he lived there or why but would sure like to find out more. I was told he died when kicked in the head by a horse... Thanks for sharing your video.

Is this where they housed some of the poor people in exchange for work? You know the work houses in England. This is a beautiful building still. If only the walls could talk. I am really enjoying your videos. Very interesting!

Any indications as to when this place was built? Very interesting video - great job.

The toys look rather new in comparison to when this was abandoned. I would gather that the building was being used as a dumping ground for someone who didn't want to pay to have trash taken away. Do you go to these locations by yourself? I would think it would be safer to go with someone in case there was an accident.

I wonder what year it was built and then closed? I wish you would have shown the furnace/heater room.

takes a lot to trash a large building like this. all the beautiful brick to make that building, gone to waste. the building seems to have had many lives, and abused through most of them. looks like its been in a war. wish things like this could be salvaged someway and given a new life. thanks for the walk through....be careful of lead paint and mold.

I agree with CW, this place would likely cost well over a million to restore. Think about it, new electrical, new plumbing, roof repairs, new windows, new doors, brick and mortar repairs, mould removal, issues with lead paint removal, new flooring, drywall, thousands of dollars just in paint, mouldings, the list is nearly endless. It would take months just to clean out the place, and probably years for the renovation. It's also HUGE. It could be an apartment complex more than a home. I do think it's a waste that it was left to rot, though, and I wish more of these old buildings could be saved.

Would be great if we had the location. Some of us might want to also request permission. I believe most of us can handle being told no - or face jail if we trespass. Not your liability in either case.

I don't typically give out freebies. Trust me, very very bad things happen when you publicly name stuff. It usually adds up to a viral video in exchange for a heavily vandalized location. Explorers who have been in the game for a while will be able to figure out a lot of my locations with a little bit of research

+Connor Cunningham my guess is it was a place you went when you either couldnt' pay back a debt or you had no place to go when you "lost the farm" -- before welfare came into it...
