FYI, you don't need to set up any Blueprints if you just want to export/render. The Blueprint is only to play the video when you're playing the game. For the export, the Media Track in Sequencer handles everything.

Dear Alexzander, thanks for this video! You are the only one that showed it with sequencer. I want to ask, these video textures, can they be made into EMISSIVE materials? The effect I want to simulate is a video wall on a city building at night. So it would be good if the video can emit to affect the surrounding. Any other advice is appreciated :)

@@alexzanderthegeek Thank You So Much Alexzander ! Your video really helped me very much. Struggling badly with unreal. Always had been since I use it for films and not games. So I prefer to render out separate layers to use in other software I am more comfortable with for compositing. The very basic effect I need is to get the TV glow integrated with my current meshes and render out a background plate. Seems straightforward but nothing is straightforward for me in UE.

@alexzanderthegeek
3 жыл бұрын
Hi Tanooki! You have awesome configuration, so for sure the hardware is not a problem! 😁 But, i am sure that somewhere is the problem with the FPS of the video you transformed in frames. It is VERY important that all the FPS to be the same in all the steps, so, please check the following: -The FPS of the video you want to transform in frames, see at what FPS is filmed. If your final render will be 30FPS then transform this video in 30FPS before exporting it to frames. -In VLC you must extract the correct frames numbers, so if the original video is 30FPS then you will want to have 30 frames extracted each second -in Unreal you have to select the same FPS, see 04:29 -in sequencer you must have the same FPS selected. It should work if you synchronize all the FPS. Good luck!

Hi, great video, although I have an issue and can't quite get it to work. The image sequence is in my movies folder, the media player is setup, the material and all, in the media player, the preview works just fine, at the speed, but when I drag the img source in my sequencer it goes all black and has no animation whatsoever. Sometimes the material gets all white as well but I stopped doing the level blueprint thingy and it doesn't appear as often. So whether I play my level sequence or not, it only works when I open the preview If anyone has an answer for that, or routes I could take to find what the problem is, I'd be very grateful :)

Good luck!

@@alexzanderthegeek Yeah, I would love to have it be something I did wrong, but unfortunately, that's not the case. I've done it three more times since. Even tried different media sources (video and images). I'm rendering from After Effects because I need an alpha channel, so I know the frame rate is correct. The only thing I got to work, somewhat, was to render out of AE at 24FPS. The image in UE isn't the smoothest, but at least it's closest to what I need it to be. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
