There is one aspect of the immigration debate that the Black Sisters of Southall don't seem to be keen on addressing- many illegal immigrants are vulnerable to all manner of exploitation. They (the illegals) hope to find shelter and succor among ethnic communities, but often they find abuse and cannot appeal to the authorities. Imposing heavy fines on people who employ or house illegals is one way the government is trying to deal with the problem, but how many ethnic minority groups are even prepared to admit that such a problem exists? And if you chase the immigration officials from the streets, how on earth can they even be aware of such problems?
