Police in Southern England have arrested Southampton goalkeeper Bruce Grobbelaar.
They are investigating claims that he accepted bribes from gambling syndicates to fix the results of football matches.
Grobbelaar who has also played for his native Zimbabwe was arrested at his Hampshire home in a dawn raid by police.
37 year old Grobbelaar is probably the most famous goalkeeper in the UK, he won a string of football honours during his 13 year stint at Liverpool. He's currently at Southampton.
He was charged with misconduct by the Football Association in November 1994 after one of the country's tabloid newspapers The Sun, produced a dossier of videos, interviews and photographs claiming to show that Grobbelaar was linked to a gambling conspiracy.
Hampshire police say Grobbelaar arrested at his rented cottage in the New Forest at 06.55 GMT Tuesday.
Four other people have been arrested, one is Wimbledon goalkeeper Hans Segers another is the girlfriend of Aston Villa striker John Fashanu.
