Our rules are very strict. You have to convince a police officer that you need a gun. Although Uzis are technically legal, it's hard to imagine anyone having a legitimate need for one (self-defence is not considered a reason). Frankly, almost nobody has a gun and we like it that way.

The legal Uzi's are not the regular 9mm automatic submachine guns. Only .22 single shot variants can be licenced. Same with all the MP5 and the other assault type weapons in the video - only .22 single shot.

They’re .22LR semi auto, not single shot/bolt action. These are permitted under section 1

Those US numbers are now around 120.5 per hundred people. (As of 2017). The UK has just on 5.

Yes they are strict because in 96 we had a school shooting from someone who had the permits. So they became stricter and we've never had a school shooting since. It was the Dunblane massacre. Andy Murray the tennis player and his brother were in the school at the time.

as mentioned before, we have dunblane mass shooting, in 2 years guns had been banned, i know not every gun, since 1996 dunblane, there has never been another mass school shooting in the UK since, yet, since that time, over 200 thousand school children have been affected by guns at school in one form or another, mass shooting, single shootings, we like our gun laws

Why are school children being killed by guns that are banned in the UK? The laws arenot working.

Most people who own them here will be farmers out in the sticks who have shotguns for protecting their stock from animal attacks & putting down injured animals. Most people here will never see a real gun in their entire life, aside from watching films & television shows.

Omg this video is still doing the rounds.Lets just clear this very bad video up because everyone reacts to the Ar and uzi in every video. These are look a like uzis NOT real Uzis. Most of these look alikes are made by Umerex who initially made bb guns and then calibered them in .22 lr rimfire which is no where near as lethal as the 9mm real Uzi. It is amusing reading the comments, you can tell who the clueless non shooters are. Many shooters by 15-22 look alike Ar15’s for their kids to learn to shoot because they consider .22lr as a tin can shooting round.

Self defence is not a legitimate reason though so only a few get the green light to own a gun, Farmers, pest control, estate groundsman, elite Police that sort of thing, so the video has not really clarified that.

I think your thoughts on american police being able to do the guns checks like here in the UK is flawed, The Uk police do not carry guns (yes we have armed response) in general, so there choice and checks whether you should be allowed a gun is based on safety, the need for that gun, its more unbiased, American police, are biased, to be honest, they only want to be the gun owners, most have no real training on guns, apart from shooting range, to qualify, more people die at the hands of the police, than police are shot, most are corrupt, you have second ammendment, but if you carry, which is your right, you will be arrested, or shot and killed for leagal activity, Uk armed police are the best in the world, constant training, in all sinarios' trained by the military, they have to go through so many evaluations to be fire arms officer, to give example a year or so ago, terrorist in london, within 8 minutes, they were on scene, cleared to public, and i shot to drop the suspect, then rendered first aid, your cop emptied 2 clips into a car, because a hazel nut dropped on the roof of a car,

Did you not see the dauphin helicopter land on the bridge? The “Cops” that despatched (slotted) those terrorists wore police firearms gear but……. The general firearms office (Not D11 permanent firearm officers) are in military terms given the basic training required because they volunteer to be firearm trained (A shot) They are standard police officers who can step in on a random firearm incident. The Fire arms enforcement officers ( FEO’s ) who do the interviews for a firearms certificate are civilians from very diverse backgrounds many with next to no firearms experience because the process is very much box ticking administration. The school shooter in Scotland didnt actually have a good reason to have that firearm but thats another story.Sorry to burst your bubble.

@@flyerh Hi, i actually know more about the police and fire arms training tan you think, and not something i would fully go into you tube, except to say, can you remeber the ralph moet case in the north, northumberland at rotherbury, where he shot a fe and blinded and officer and took his own life. with out going into to much details, they were ill trained for the environment, out in the middle of knowhere, forests and wooden areas, my brother was working for the northumbria police as a civilian, but he had just left the forces, he was a sergent major in the parachute regiment, when he left, trained in all areas, he became a trainer, for them for a while, teaching them in this type of environment what to look out, how to communicate, for example, suspect is near a tree, what tree, evergreen, shape, no leaves, identifying locations, using quick different tackets, how to search and keep safe, not know where he is, the way to approach, with 360 with 4 officers, all corners. i have said enough

Not just an officer doctor is also contracted. Had a family member who used a gun for his work employed by the council to keep the rabbit 🐇 rats 🐀 and pigeon population in check on the trading estates. He had a bad time and was put on antidepressants a few days later the armed police came and took his guns ( harsh I know but the rules do work ) but not to worry he is doing better than ever and he now uses trained birds of prey 🦅 now instead of a gun once a week him and his birds will be out near me Norris is nice he likes to be stroked but the other one is a dick

Strict common sense. These laws would be some use in America. No one is saying you can't have a gun

They would be no use in the USA. They are no use in the UK.
