Put those pkgs of food and dog treats that are not in tins into tight buckets or totes. They will attract rodents. And our bagged dog food is in a metal trash can with a tight lid. We got mice from cardboard boxes in our basement. Got rid of those. They live cardboard, they eat it and make nests from it. Stack it to the ceiling. Bad times are coming world wide

Great post, like you have found places to store additional, currently we are up around 35% to buy goods and like others have said, will only rise over the next few years. Have a vacuum sealer so on certain items where they are in paper have sealed them. Live in Ireland, corned beef is around €3.80 a tin (Lidl), so not a very cost-effective item to buy here. Found it interesting, only 319 likes 520 subscribers yet, 7.8k people have watched your post!

You are one of the few preppers I've come across on KZitem with a similar philosophy as my own. Basically I don't stock foods of low nutritional value, nor foods that I know I won't eat! I see so many proudly hauling junk and I'm stunned.

just a suggestion... I would stock up on some whole bay leaves... they are good to lay one on each shelf to keep little insect pests (pantry moths or mealy worms) from ruining your food... they really go after flours and pasta... change them out every 6 months... can you get canned chicken? that is good to make soups or chicken and rice. you are doing a great job!! and from one long time prepper (with a basement)... you are using the space you have which is great... so many say..." oh I can't stock all that ... I don't have room"... you are just doing it and that's great! don't forget to store water... this is the 1st video I have watched of yours and decided I would subscribe and follow along with you... thanks for the video ... stay safe and happy... your new subscriber Deb from South Dakota USA

Remember those potato flakes can be used as a flour as well. You have stored many of the same things I have put away as well. And you can also use that Nido milk to make butter as well in a pinch. Because it has the milk fats. I have the same. Good choice. I also stored a lot of oatmeal and pancake mix. The lights are great. I have done that as well. Placed battery operated emergency lights around. I purchased 4 bundles of washclothes and buckets with lids. I will put a little scented cleaner in the bucket and place soiled washcloths in there. Till I need to wash them. I am also set up for outdoor washing without electricity. You can store flour in buckets and place Bay Leaves in the bucket to kill weevils or bugs in flour. 3-4 in the bottom 2-3 in middle and 2-3 on top. And place lid on sealed tight.

Glass jars are the best most environmentally friendly storage for food. When I was young all milk came in glass bottles as did fruit squashes ( cordials) and dark CEA like Heinz tomato ketchup. Over the years most packaging has changed to cheeper lightweight plastics. As a child almost every house in the Uk had milk delivered daily to their door in glass bottles which would be collected the next morning and reused. Shame not all improvements are better than the original

Make sure you are stocking good fats. Ghee, lard, Olive oil. All of those are vanishing quickly from the supply chain due to droughts, and cold weather. You need fat to prevent malnutrition. When storing powder milk, go for fat free. Fats in dried dairy will go rancid.

🥕🌶🥦🧅🌽🎃 Get a DEHYDRATOR, and have fun DEHYDRATING the abundance of seasonal produce. They all shrink considerably, and can be kept in glass jars with a tide lid. Must be completely dehydrated to the brittle crunch stage, like chips. If there is any residual humidity, if it can bend at all, eventually it will go bad and grow mold. Dehydrating is a wonderful way of preserving vegetables and fruit for later, and quite awesome when available space is a problem.
